Spagnuolo gone in STL and Morris gone in TB http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...-fire-coach-raheem-morris-10-game-losing-skid http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...re-coach-steve-spagnuolo-gm-billy-devaney-too
Spags will go to Philly. The Giants cant hire him right now because they are in the playoffs. Phillys going to make a move any day imo.
Spagnuolo is a good defensive coach but he runs a 4-3 scheme and we don't have the personnel for that type of defense, also Rex would never want a 4-3 system.
i NEVER saw that coming. I suppose signing Peyton to a $90 trillion contract six weeks before he was announced as out for the year was fatal stupidity in Indianapolis. And rightfully so.
Screw Polian. He's one of the reasons why defense is so irrelevant now. I'm pretty sure Irsay and Polian had a difference of opinion as far as what to do with Manning.
Actually, you're right..I initially thought he could change like NE did this year (while still getting the #1 seed in the league, although not because of their defense) but maybe not.
Indy is one of the worst run franchises in football. Look at their drafting, it is truly horrific, their FA moves as well. Since 2004 here are their first rounders No pick(traded for a 2nd 4th and upgrade in 3rd) Marlin jackson Joe Addai Anthony Gonzales No pick (traded with a 4th for previous year second) Donald Brown Jerry Hughes Anthony Costanzo Players drafted 2004-2008 still on the roster: 2004- none 2005- none 2006- Addai, Bethea 2007-Gonzalez 2008- Pollack, Wheeler, Tamme, Garcon That is a brutal run, Garcon, Addai and Bethea are the only starters on that list. ANd there is no depth either.
I doubt they'd go after Spaguolo too, but I don't think Rex has anything against the 4-3. You make it sound like it would be something he'd never even consider. His dad became known as a defensive genius with a 4 man front.
