Watch a Patriots game and see how many times Brady rips into his WRs and gets into it even with the OC. The last play of the game had nothing to do with the problems we had all year. Holmes being pissed won't make the play calling better. Wont make Eric Smith any better. Won't make that hypocrite Wayne Hunter stop getting our QB annihilated. Problem is, we'll go and try to replace him and losers like Eric Smith and Wayne Hunter will be back. Even though Holmes has won us games with big time plays and Smith,Hunter,Mulligan etc routinely lose us games. Grow the fuck up people. It isnt about being nice and makig friends. If your offense is inept, you deserve to be pissed. Problem is, it should be your head coach doing the yelling and he's clearly not doing enough of it!

yelling and getting in someones face is one thing. walking around like you dont care for half the season, THEN yelling at someone when they call you on it is another thing. he was not the one yelling at them, from the reports i have read THEY were yelling at him for dogging it. he just started yelling back cause thats what kids do.

THEN he went and sat on the bench like a little baby, he didnt stand next to the OC waiting to be put back in. he didnt stand on the sideline and support his team as they drove down the field (not surprisingly the guy who replaced him actually going out and doing something) no he didnt do any of that. he went and sat on the bench and thought about himself, as usual.

if what you say was actually what happened it would be a LITTLE different, but he still quit on the team. and went and sat his sorry butt down when he should have been a good teammate.

however the information that has come out says that he has been dogging it for a month and he got called on it late in the game yesterday after he acted like a complete malcontent. and then he acted like a baby about it.

Most scathing indictment of Jets WR Santonio Holmes: One player tells me: "He's a cancer. It's like dealing with a 10 year old." #nyj

I want to know how on earth the PR department could have allowed him to take the press room podium after the game. That was an embarrassment.

Colleen... TGG's mom :) (I'm with you on this just to clarify)

Wow, we really screwed up on giving him a C didn't we? Not so much for exchanging words but for blowing off the next mtg.
Rex really has to understand he is the HC of the WHOLE team, not just the D!

I think that was no accident. Now everyone is focused on what an ass, cancer, douchebag Holmes is and he is getting all the blame for 'what went wrong' this year. They cut him... and they now look like they are 'getting it done' and taking action to save the team.

It sucks that he's such a douche but really I think the Jets may be stuck with him. They can't drastically overhaul the position AGAIN, especially since getting rid of him eats into our already limited cap space. Best thing to do would be to upgrade the talent, change the attitude around the facility from top to bottom (which starts with Rex), give everybody a clean slate in 2012 and then hope we win some games. There was bullshit with Braylon last year too apparently and we didn't hear anything about it because we won.

What a clusterfuck this season has been.

Not making excuses for him but what a downer for him catching 2 passes a game with 3-4 thrown at your feet or over your head every game, or even worse how many times has San-cheese almost gotten him killed over the middle? But his attitude is unacceptable...

Keeping him and letting him play is impossible... he will sabotage the game and bring down the entire team.

Not like he isn't known for dropping passes anyway when he IS trying.

I just looked at the numbers, it's really only about a ~3 million difference in cap space. For that amount it's probably worth it to ditch him.

I suppose that's possible. But not knowing what he would say, that would be a pretty reckless. I'd almost prefer hearing that the entire PR department was pissed off and went off drinking.

Another thing that bothered me: in his post-game comments, Rex said that he didn't even know Santonio had been benched and was wondering what was going on when he noticed Holmes wasn't in the game.
I mean, he only the freaking head coach. There's something wrong when, during a critical time in a critical game, the head coach doesn't have a better grasp of what was going on in the huddle and why one of our most talented playmakers was on the bench.

....unless this was just Rex openly throwing Schotty under the bus. Either way, it's no way to manage personnel.

Didn't see this article posted. Don't understand how anyone can defend Santonio here - clearly a POS

When the Jets acquired Santonio Holmes I loved the move. Judging from Super Bowl where he was MVP, he's a guy who not afraid to want to be "The Man" But judging from the last year, he's a guy who is at a crossroads. A someone pointed out yesterday, there's a reason why the Steelers accepted a fifth round pick for him. He's talented, but he's very selfish and very immature. He's got to learn that it's not all about him. His team
needed him at the end,and he wound up in the bench. I can understand being frustrated, but sometimes you have to "suck it up" and just play. Cimini said on ESPN, that Holmes may have played his last game as a Jet. That's too bad because I think he has tons of talent and he could've helped this team. But right now he's a problem child, and for this team to go forward he may need to be left behind.

Sanchez should have put cardboard cut outs on the field after practice and started throwing to them. Improve your skill set on your own and then others will follow your lead and help you. Nobody wants to be chasing balls thrown over their head or at their feet all day.

Schotty the self proclaimed "excellent coach" has been playing games with the receiving corps since the non-visit to Rex took place earlier in the season. Schotty quit on this team long before anyone else.

Wayne Hunter should get that turn-style pole removed from his ass before criticizing others.

Santonio Holmes should have went off on Schotty on the sidelines during a game at the midpoint of the season. The Jets might have another game on the schedule or Holmes might.

I don't think he's going anywhere. Rex is going to coddle him, and it's just going to remain a toxic situation going into next season. Unless Holmes is willing to restructure his contract in a way where he can get cut more easily, he's coming back.
