I know that Rex believes that he can coach players with attitude. But I still believe that veteran players can only help build a winning chemistry!

LT did fit that role the last couple of years, but I don't think he will come back this year. Our biggest problem is the offense for the leadership area. We completely lost our identity this year. Which FA should we sign this year? Who can step up and fill that role? The best player possible would be Sanchez but he needs to show up consistently in order to be THAT player.

Do you guys share this concern?

I believe that Rex is without a doubt the best coach for this team and I trust him completely, he is the best thing that happened to the Jets. However we might need some change in offense... Our offense needs a new leader!!! This leader needs to be Sanchez. Quit the drama now and let's all get to work for a good offseason!

Well, it certainly didn't take very long for this team to show the depth of its immaturity. On one side of the ball you have players fighting - in the huddle, no less. On the other side of the ball you have a player like Cromartie putting blame solely at the feet of the offense. Sifting through the rubble, we know now that this just isn't a cohesive team at all.

It's not easy to bring leadership in from the outside.

It's time for guys like Mangold, Sanchez, Revis and Harris to step up and provide veteran leadership.

When the core 4 all received shiny new deals, responsibility came with it. They need to step up and help lead this team.

In the last three seasons we had three excellent veteran players who all had one thing in common. They played at a very high level until they got hurt before we got to the last couple games on the regular season.

Damien Woody missed last years playoffs.
Jim Leonard missed last years playoffs and the last few games this year (mostly losses)
Kris Jenkins got hurt two years in a row during the first half of the regular season.

Veteran leadership and guys like Bart Scott have been a big help to this team but the defending champion had several great draft classes. They are winning with youth and speed. The Patriots accumulated a ton of draft picks and have loaded up on good young players as well.

Damien Woody, Jason Taylor, Braylon Edwards, T-Rich -- all wanted to come back.

    Jets said no.

    Ergo, 11-5 goes to 8-8.

we have young veterans and they need to step up -- Mangold is the best Ctr in football - he needs to be vocal, david harris is a stud, revis -- these guys are Jets for life and needs to act like it. LT would be nice to bring back just for the sake of his ability to be a leader in the locker room...another reason Jim Leonhard might be back.

Yeah i have to disagree with that . They all may be good leaders except Braylon maybe . The thing is they all couldn't play anymore . Woody and T-Rich are out of football for a reason . Braylon wanted to much money and JT is way too old . I think we need vets and leader badly here , but talent comes first .

I keep hearing how we didn't keep Faneca and T Jones and they were leader. If the player isn't good or wants too much money what are you supposed to do?The coaches lead the players play . Lets get the best players we can here. I'm sick of hearing about keeping dead weight is the reason why we lost

Last season something clicked with Braylon. I think that his DUI was a wake-up call and he had a huge transformation in character.

Braylon took less money to be in SF than we offered him.

Guys like Cromartie and Holmes are cancers to this team... They'll stick around for 2012 but I hope they get the F out of here afterwards.

The only leader we have is LT and he might be gone.

Tanny and Rex wise ass policy of screwing all the team leaders bit them, as I predicted. Now Tomlinson, whose the leader, and a class act,,, they'll vet minimum that guy again and he'll be gone next.

RichCimini: Slauson on Rex's speech: "Yeah, he was crying because he loves us." Rex was pleading for team unity, Slauson said. #Jets

Now Rex has to cry and beg for them to be professionals. Sad how broken this team is right now

I mean, maybe he was crying when looking at Bart Can't Wait Scott's numbers this past season.

    Boy, do we need leadership.

    Twitter:

@ConorTOrr: Bart Scott did not talk, all he said on the way out on coming back was: "all I know is I got a guaranteed contract for $4 million" #Jets

The one character guy on the team, Tomlinson, he'll be the guy they don't bring back.
