If Sanchez checks down it's because: No one. Is Open. Ever. How could they be with these route designs? At this point you could give him 10 seconds in the pocket and he's still not going to have anyone to throw to. Everyone is either lined up halfway to the first down marker, or is double covered. Every single aspect of that speaks to our OC.
Sanchez owns a suite in Morristown. This is fact. I didn't say he spent every waking moment there, but he owns it and uses it. I don't understand why people think I'd make this up? I can vouch 100% for my friend running into Mangold at the liquor store, he showed me the picture. Ask the owner of Gary's in Madison, Mangold is in there all the time. The other story about Sanchez being drunk the night before a game could be false and it's 3rd party info, so I can't comment on the authenticity. It was just what a few of my friends told me. The Mangold tidbit is dead on accurate, however. I hope it's not true, just as much as you do. I have no reason to lie about this stuff, but I don't like the idea of our all pro center buying dozens of bottles of win 2 days before a big game. Something tells me its not just for his family. That would be nice, however. If the players want to go out and drink, they should do it the night after games, not prior. We've look flatfooted for a large portion of this year.
I understand everyone has a right to their opinion, but, why is this kid allowed to made threads? He doesn't add anything of substance. he throws out stats that are wrong 95 percent of the time. He should be given a week off. He's like our version of raider joe.
Re: confidence - I think that's dead on. I just posted the same comment in another thread. It's just so clear that whatever tools he may have, they're little value to anyone if he lacks confidence behind center.
That is correct. The Jets and Giants stay in a hotel near the Meadowlands the night before a home game. I have been at Saturday night functions and have seen both teams at hotels the night before a game.
I don't like hearing stuff like this: Tomlinson on Sanchez: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/ Even running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who was mostly supportive of Sanchez in his postgame comments, said the third-year quarterback tends to get “down on himself” when mistakes happen. “He’s a prideful person,” Tomlinson said. “You just have to constantly remind him, 'Hey bud, it happens. Let’s keep going.'
The lack of OTA's really hurt Andy Dalton, and Cam Newton, didn't they? This guy is a 3rd year starter who brought his receivers out to not one, but two camps... OTA's had nothing to do with Sanchez sucking, he just sucks.
Proof that its Sanchez & not Schotty ??? Sanchez has the ball, throws the ball & runs with the ball. Schotty does none of that. Few QB's can be effective w/o good upfront blocking. Sanchez rarely gets time to stand in the pocket w/o duress??? Thats a real fact. RT was consistently getting Sanchez killed this year. Sanchez, with time is capable, not spectacular, but capable. Sanchez consistently moves team downfield for scores late in games. A major plus. Sanchez just needs to improve his improvisation skills like Rothlisberger or Romo. When the pocket or play breakdowns, he needs to improvise better....maybe run more. We can always blame the coaches, but the players have to be able to make plays & this year, he hasn't been able to make enough of them.
Please, this guy is supposed to be an NFL QB, if the OC has to teach him not to throw to a lineman, then we are in a lot of trouble.
