You would take matt Moore in a heartbeat??? Really?? Wow, I don't even think matt Moore would take himself in a heartbeat.
Oh................................................................Good one................ :rofl2:?? But yeah, I agree Sanchez has been playing like shit and making terrible decisions, but he's also never been under this kind of constant pressure. I lost count of how many times Wayne Hunter has almost gotten mark killed. I'd like to see Sanchez with a reinforced O-line and a new & better OC before i even entertain the thought of giving up on him.
I don't think that's far off from reality. I have a lot of friends in Morristown, where he's got a double penthouse suite, and they've seen Sanchez at the bars apparently trashed and pounding at the door trying to get back in after it was closed. This was last year the night before a big game that we lost, I forget which one. I don't know if its 100% accurate or what else might be involved. Also my buddy ran into Nick Mangold at a liquor store in Madison 2 days before the Jets Eagles game and he literally bought an entire cart of wine, like one of those big crates. I really hope this isn't what's going on. If so our team is completely out of control.
Matt Barkley will also fit this category. And he's done it on a team that can't go to bowl games. I wish there was a reasonable shot at him.
Matt Flynn threw for 480 yards against a lions team that was trying. And don't even attempt to say "He has time", the packers have one of the worse offensive lines in the NFL
Its hilarious just how closely the pro-Sanchez guy's arguments mimic the Henne supporters arguments. We had a shitty OC and people blamed it all on him...well, turns out Henning wasnt the reason why Henne never threw deep.
Some difference there; Schotty Jr's was the Jets OC for three seasons before they drafted Sanchez. And the Jets weren't exactly world-beaters on offense then.
Sanchez just seems like he is dazed in postgame pressers. All season. Maybe he just isn't smart enough to process all the data that an elite starting QB must to consistently win. He cannot be relied upon to carry this team in tight games - he loses his composure too often. Is he poorly coached, or just overrated.
The original poster clearly doesn't know what constitutes "proof." Sanchez was awful today. Was awful (or awfully inconsistent) for much of the season, too. That sure as hell doesn't mean a significant portion of the blame doesn't go at Schottenheimer's feet, though. Or the defense's. Or the O-line's. Or Rex's. Or Greene's. Or Tanny's. And so on... The Jets played horribly inconsistent football all season long. They were lucky to win some of the games they did. They were maybe (maybe) unlucky to lose some of the games they did. But they gave up big plays at bad times, and made stupid mistakes at even worse times, and I never felt at any point this season that the team was building toward something. Actually, that's one thing I blame Schottenheimer for more than anything else. The dude has ZERO sense of momentum or rhythm in terms of running an offense. The Jets gash an opponent with the run for four straight plays? Schotty thinks, "Time to empty the backfield!!" Those are the sorts of stupid mistakes that indirectly affect player performance. A lack of rhythm leads ultimately to a lack of confidence on offense which leads to a less effective offense which leads to a more tired defense, etc. I don't put all the blame on Schottenheimer, but if I were to change one and only one piece of the puzzle (given available replacements), it'd be him. Fortunately, we don't just have to change one piece of the puzzle... of course, I'd still put OC, D-line, O-line, safety, and WRs ahead of QB in terms of positions of need. Sanchez isn't great, but I'd give him another season.
Wow, what a baseless and classless accusation. Sanchez's skills as a quarterback might be in question but nothing this kid has ever done off the field has ever warranted a remark like that. You're an asshole.
