No, we wouldn't have. Our D gave away both AFCCG. Nuff said.

IF the Jets even think about shelling out all that $ for Peyton, after 3 fucking neck procedures, and he gets hit, which he is bound to do because he's not that fucking mobile (look at his younger days) and he gets seriously hurt, then they deserve it.

This is just stupid, to be honest.

Cutting Sanchez would save us 8.5 mil, I wouldn't expect Manning to cost us much more. Brady had a knee injury which is more serious who cares? Roll the dice, worse case he won't pan out and we will sign a "average" qb who will be just as good or better then Sanchez. Anyone who rather have Sanchez here next year then Peyton Manning is obviously braindead or never wants the Jets to win a superbowl.

Rex will always support Sanchez. Thats his guy and will always be his guy. So theres no point in even discussing bringing in Manning, especially after he shot Manning down on ESPN radio the other day.

And Rex is right, what is the point in bringing him in now? No one knows how hes going to play after not doing so for a year. And then you have Sanchez. Hes young and still developing. For all we know he might just be one of the top QBs in the league in the near future.

Peyton Manning makes this team better.
I'm tired of losing. I don't care if Sanchez's feelings are hurt or it sets back this franchise a few years. If Manning is the missing ingredient to a Jets Superbowl win, then I say go and get him.

Yup just proves the fact that Sanchez is being paid more then any qb this season while being the worst at virtually every category whats your point?

You've got to be joking. Brady had a bad knee injury, yes, but it wasn't as bad as Peyton's neck injury. HE HAD 3 NECK PROCEDURES! He gets hit just once and it could mean his career and difficulties the rest of his life.

I never liked Peyton and would wish for him to get seriously injured, but to say to roll the dice on this is just dumb. We've been through this before, so obviously you haven't been a fan long or are just a Sanchez hater.

Look at Favre. Look at O'Donnell. Both brought on big contracts, and did SHIT! Luckily after Favre, we drafted a QB named Mark Sanchez. He is/should be our future. There are far too many other holes we have to waste so much money on that big pussy Peyton. Talk about taking sacks, he is the king of taking the sack. He's less mobile than Mark.

He isn't the missing ingredient. Just sayin'. Of course you don't care if it sets us back a few years because your are a fucking moron. IF this was 08-10 and Mark was still a rookie, I'd say go for it, but now, it's just stupid.

Agreed, this isnt a long term plan. Just 1 Super Bowl, thats all Manning we need to win for us. Get him for 4 seasons, and we will likely succeed.

Should we cut Sanchez? if we have to, to get Manning then do it.

And if Manning does indeed get injured again, im not going to sit their and bitch, because im all for getting him.

Are you kidding me king off the sack lol? His last 2 years didn't even amount to Sanchez this year. Sanchez is the king of the sack, listen I know the only reason your a Sanchez supporter is cause he is Mexican but this is overreach. Stop looking for excuses. Whats more important to a qb a neck or a knee please tell me? Manning with a bad knee, neck, arm, and shoulder is still better then Sanchez. Your comparing Nfl royalty to crap.

It's just funny, I realized his base salary was high this season, I didn't realize it was the highest of any NFL QB.

Other QB's will probably make more this season through incentives, but I still wouldn't have guessed that Sanchez had the highest base salary in the league for QBs.

I don't know why anyone would be against bringing in Manning if we really could keep him and Sanchez. I know people disagree that it's possible, but it may be. If we don't have to give up a pick either? I'm a Sanchez fan, but I'm a Jets fan first.

Take a RT early in the draft, get Braylon on the cheap, re-sign plaxico. If Peyton gets hurt again, just put Sanchez in.

    This is a sensible approach.

But dawg, there's a quote in this thread where Manning says he'll play for us for free! If we cut Sanchez, my calculations show that we would only spend $0 on the QB position and can spend more money on a WR like Reggie Wayne! It's a no brainer.

I can't believe people are in favor of this. Bringing Manning in will set this franchise back 5 years. The Jets will be the next Minnesota Vikings. Count me out. Fix the real holes on this team and it contends for a title over the long haul. Bring Manning in and the window closes in a year or less if he gets hurt.

Favre was a disaster and it had absolutely nothing to do with his injury. While Manning is not the same selfish prick, he is coming off a major injury. It is not worth the gamble and the scorched earth that will result (salary cap hell, inability to upgrade elsewhere because of all the money tied up at QB, Sanchez going elsewhere).

Take a look at the Colts this year and you see what happens when money is poured into one position. The Colts suck not only because of the injury to Manning, but because the OL is built only to pass protect, not run block , the defense was built to protect a lead and not stop the run, and the defense was built on the cheap with 6 starters who are free agents earning the NFL minimum. The Colts tied all their money in Manning and the WRs.

I don't want to go there with my team.

    Just stop with this nonsense.

Werent we like 8 million under the cap this season? If we bring back a similar team, cut Sanchez, fix RT. Hopefully find a safety. Bring in Manning, we will be a Super Bowl team.

We have the money to do it I believe, this team isnt that far from being a playoff team. Hell we still might make the playoffs. But adding Manning we are probably the best team in the AFC.

Lol why would they cut Manning. Is it not possible to trade him I'm sure they can still get a lot from him even coming off surgery.

How will it set us back 5 years? the year after Favre left, we went to the AFC Championship. It wont set anything back. Yeah sure when Manning retires we mite be screwed, but if we have a ring to show for then it was all worth it.

So $8 million buys the Jets Manning, a good RT, and a starting safety? Where - at the dollar store?
