[/B] Are you serious? First off, right now the defense isn't that good so if you're saying it's just less bad, that does nothing for us. Second, Favre had a huge year in 2007, while Manning would be coming off of a season missed due to multiple neck surgeries. Saying 'if' is quite a stretch there.[/QUOTE] He had an "off year" in 08 and another great year in 09.. Gee, I wonder why.
While alot of it has to do with Shotty, Sanchez getting rattled with 1 big hit and incostistentcy has nothing to do with Shotty. He misses 10 throws in a row in time and is streaky like Rex Grossman, maybe this can be fixed maybe it can't be 56% completion rate in Shottys 2 yard pass offense is unnaceptable. Also constant indiotic decions don't help his cause.
That's it!!!! That's why we ran 60+ pass plays against the Giants. Schotty makes it up in volume! Now somebody just needs to explain the whole 4 down thing to him.
True Alex smith - wtf? the guy sucks, the rest of the team is playing for him Newton - It's his first year jeez, look at freeman, he had one amazing year and now he sucked balls all season Luck - he is not even playing in the nfl, how can he be top20? he probably will be better than sanchez, but let's wait first dalton - first year, same thing Flacco - meh fitzpatrick - no, also, too much beard freeman - sucks hasselback - bald bradford - too much teeth r griffin - who the hell is this? Rivers- Overrated crybaby that has proven to be the anti-clutch when it matters most.
you could include every quarterback drafted 2009-present or about to be drafted in 2012 not named Stafford and Mark Sanchez remains the best of the entire bunch I well remember all the posters screaming for strong-armed "Jamarcus" Freeman over Sanchez -- I guess most of them are back cowering under their beds after the results are in on that BUST
i would've never expected this to turn into personal attacks and arguing the same points over n over. i expected more out of Jets fans to provide valid answers instead of just listing which qbs are "better" than sanchez today. i've yet to see one "valid" answer in this thread. i again ask, who would you replace sanchez with and what would be your expectations from the new qb? thank you. -Jets Fan
The point is that there is no "valid" answer right now. Everyone knows that. But that doesn't mean we have to be happy with the status quo either. We're taking our lumps with Sanchez now. In time, hopefully he can develop into a nice starting QB, but it seems most of you are giving him way too much credit and relieving him of any culpability for the performance of the offense. There's no immediate solution, but this team desperately needs to bring in someone who can at least push Sanchez. It doesn't necessarily even have to be a QB competition, but they need someone to either push Sanchez or replace him in time. No better way to do that than the draft. I'd rather draft an unknown than grab a has-been or never-was and hope they develop into something. But seriously, there's no one available right now. Unless you can get Peyton for a reasonable price tag, there's no player available that's going to be an upgrade over Sanchez. The only hope there is to get lucky in the draft with a QB pick. And even then, no one is (or no one should be) saying to cut ties with Sanchez then. Drafting a QB doesn't preclude you from having to run an offense now until said QB is ready to take over (if ever). So no, you can't just get rid of him. But there are ways that we can give ourselves some escape routes if Sanchez doesn't work out. This all comes down to every fan's opinion of Sanchez. Some of you seem to think he's awesome. Some think he's abysmal. He's neither. He's just okay, and that's a huge part of why our team is just okay.
LOL... I'll STILL Take Freeman..... You can learn to read a defense and you can get better weapons when you have a cannon on your shoulder. You can't learn not to be a cowering pussy. I'll still bet my house that Freeman becomes the better QB overall and I still say that if the jets had Freeman they would have gone further and if Rex coached Tampa they would have had more success.
Rodgers = better than sanchez but he also got to sit behind farve and also improved his mechanics prior to becoming a starter - having jennings at WR helps a lot Brees = better than sanchez but he became a superstar after leaving schotty n chargers - having colston and graham helps a lot P Manning = better than sanchez period - he just makes everyone better E Manning = 3rd year stats are the same and he's didnt win the "big" games until year 5, but rite now he's better than sanchez - Plax in his prime helped him a lot Big Ben = better than sanchez, but he hasn't had great games in the superbowls, pitt's defense has helped a lot as well - Holmes/Wallace has helped him a lot Schaub = he hasn't won shit and i dont consider him better than sanchez - he's got one of the best WR to throw to in the game Romo = he hasn't won shit and i consider him a little above sanchez - he's got Bryant/Austin to throw to Stafford = he hasn't won shit and i consider him a little above sanchez - he's got the best WR in CJ to throw to Alex Smith = really, really?!?!? He's only played one full season prior to this year. His 3rd year stats: 94 of 193, 48.7 comp %, 914 yd, 4.74 avg, 2 tds/4 int, 6 fum, 57.2 rating Newton = he hasn't won shit and i consider him a little above sanchez - he's got Steve Smith, top 10 wr, to throw to Luck = sigh...he hasn't even played a snap in the NFL Dalton = he hasn't won shit and i don't consider him better than sanchez Vick = he hasn't won shit and i don't consider him better than sanchez. he's only played one full season which was in 2006 Cutler = he hasn't won shit and i don't consider him better than sanchez Flacco = he hasn't won shit and i don't consider him better than sanchez Fitzpatrick = he hasn't won shit and i don't consider him better than sanchez Rivers = he hasn't won shit and i consider him a little better than sanchez, but he had LT in his prime, VJax and Gates Cassel = really? really?? Freeman = NEXT! Hasselback = his best years are past him and i don't consider him better than sanchez Bradford = he's always hurt and i don' consider him better than sancez R Griffing III = again he hasn't played a snap in the nfl. we all know how heisman winning qbs have done in this league over the past few years - russell, leinart, smith, palmer, Weinke, Crouch, etc
agreed, there's no real answer to the solution, but i was hoping people who want to get rid of him would have something reasonable to say which i haven't seen in here i'm not taking blame away from sanchez by any means...as i mentioned in the opening post, he's made dumbass mistakes mirroring his rookie season. along w/ him, i believe OC and FO are to blame as well.
i gave credit the first 5 qbs listed in the above posts and didn't say they won't haven't won shit, so i am not sure what you're arguing about?
I remember a time when Pats fans would not even mention division titles. Now it's a badge of honor, because it's all they can win anymore.
well at least they can win that due to that, it doesn't really speak volume for our team... yes, i am jets fan
