Maybe it's pushing him, maybe it's a new OC, but we've got to do something different because, despite his talent, after three full years and 51 regular season and post season games, he's not even a top twenty quarterback.
i'll bet you were one of the posters that couldn't let the noodle go also. bet you were one of the guys claiming he was a franchise qb. how did that work out for you? perhaps if you go back and read some of your post and some of the players you were claiming would be great players you'll find your track record on personel stinks. yes, please go back and find mine. you see i was no fan of gholston, sanchez, noodle and roberts. yes i do think i know more than most, i don't want to hang onto players after it's clear they're not very good. i'll bet you were a gholston fan too.
I think we should be talking about a new OC and an new offense that suits Sanchez abilities more than the mess that he is put out there to run every week. It is also clear that the OL needs a serious upgrade. Your comment about him not being a top 20 QB is ridiculous. Name me those 20 QBs who are better or who you would rather have as QB of the Jets in 2012 and going forward.
I still believe in Sanchez, he's the right QB, based on the following: 1. Woody was very good at RT, but Hunter has been god awful, thus Sanchez hasn't felt quite as secure 2. Slauson has struggled a bit this season, he needs to improve 3. We let Braylon leave, bringing in Plax; RZ efficiency has improved, but we've not stretched the field at all, too many slants to Holmes 4. Letting Cotch go and bringing in Mason was a mistake (however Kerley has come in and he's an upgrade in the slot, so a bit fortunate there) 5. Greene doesn't do enough (he gets a Mulligan from me, cos it may be down to Schotty's playcalling) 6. SCHOTTY!!!! Replace Schotty, Hunter and Plax. Improve Slauson so he plays like a starter. Once done, Sanchez will do much better - not elite, but good enough to carry the team to wins. (PS I would have loved Stafford being here, but was never gonna happen)
And I claimed 3-4 so that makes 6-8. Let's see which ones you would pick. I'll Start you off. Rodgers....
Not sure if this is true. I know Mangini pulled rank for Gholston, never heard this for Revis though. Provide a link and I'll believe you. Either way my previous post stands. One player at a specific position doesn't mean a GM is an expert/not an expert at drafting at that position.
Rodgers, Brees, Brady, P. Manning, E. Manning, Big Ben, Schaub, Romo, Stafford, Alex Smith, Newton, Luck, Dalton, Vick, Cutler, Flacco, Fitzpatrick, and Rivers makes 19. I'd put Cassel, Freeman, Hasselbeck, Bradford and R. Griffin III ahead of him as well.
Who is Roberts? Pennington was a successful QB with a bright future until injuries to his throwing shoulder ruined his career. And even with that, he had a better year after he left the Jets and Schotty's shitty system in 2008 than he ever had with Schotty, and with a 1-15 team the prior year. I admit I was a Pennington fan, but by 2007-09 it became clear he was not going to hold up. I will proudly say I was completely opposed to replacing him with Favre and believe that was proven to be the correct stance. I don't pretend to be an NFL GM. There are players I liked and was wrong about and some I was right about. I am not a draftnik. But I am at a loss as to what your reply has to do with the post you quoted.
