Im assuming the only reason Pouncy gets the start over Mangold is because of Mangolds injury early in the season!
What?! Wayne Hunter didn't make the Pro Bowl! I'll bet there are nine or ten defensive ends who padded their sack stats against him who will happily buy him a ticket to Hawaii as a thank you.
My take: Revis and Mangold, deserving as always As much as I like Brick, most would consider this to be a down year for him Harris gets snubbed just like he always does Think McKnight should get in but I can't fault Antonio Brown for getting the nod
Brick & Mangold to Pro Bowl? The power of publicity Brick not a pro-bowler this year Mangold borderline. He absence was more telling than his actual play. If Brick and Mangold are pro-bowlers, then Schotty had two of the 5 AFC Pro Bowl lineman on his team and he could not make the offense work.
Well an offensive line consists of more than 2 people, no matter how good they are. Curious why Mangold shouldn't be there? His play was great, and it showed when he didn't play, our o-line was among the worst in the league.
Or looking at it another way.... Sanchez was protected by two of the best lineman in football including his blindside tackle... and still managed to get himself sacked 38 times.
Based on what I saw this season, I said Mangold was a borderline pro-bowler this season. I felt it took him several weeks to get back up to speed after the injury. I think he proved more value by his absence than his play. If we really had two of the 5 pro bowl linemen, then our offense would have produced better.
This was the tossed up softball and you hit it out of the park. The point I was tying to make was that was clearly not a Pro Bowler and Mangold was only borderline. If we really had two pro-bowl linemen, the we'd be 11-5 (like 2010 Mangold & D'Brick) or lead the league in rushing (like 2009 -when Mangold & Faneca -who picked based upon rep, and a deserving Brick did not go- went)
