I think the sarcasm went over your head...He was just joking with you considering the names you threw out made little sense. Leonard, Mulligan, Turner are okay. And what has Brunnell done to you?
It's not that Brunell has done anything wrong, it's just that the Jets need a legitimate back-up QB who, if called upon, could come in and lead an offense.
Either... "I can't break a tackle, get down field or hold a block" Holmes or... "I can't catch a pass, lead the team or hold on to the football" Holmes
^Cro is terrible at tackling. We all knew that when he sheepishly missed Greene in the playoffs. Its crazy to see a guy like eric smith hit people twice his size and then God given talent like Rhodes and Cromartie shy away from contact? I expected way more production out of Holmes. The few big catches to me get overshadowed by the lack of production and team toughness (blocking, fighting for the extra yard, leading by example, etc....). I am tired of calling out Holmes. To me either Holmes or plax should stick around to compliment the return of Edwards. I would prefer plax because he is tougher.
I despise Antonio Cromartie...But we had to sign him because we wasted our time in pursuit of Nnamdi. We missed out on guys like Jonathan Joseph, Leon Hall, etc... Cromartie has killed us in huge spots
Add a punter to this mix and i'm happy. TJ has been somewhere between god awful to decent from week to week with an average of bad.
I understand but why sign Cromartie to anything more then a 1 yr deal. All that did was make it tough on the cap to get rid of him next season for someone else. If Cromartie would even make an actual effort to tackle I wouldn't mind having him around but he's really terrible at man coverage and tackling.
Cromartie is good. Pass D is not the problem on this team, although it hasn't been good at times, it's the offense that needs work. Cro is a very good #2 CB.
Wayne Hunter. Mulligan. Eric Smith. TJ Conley. Patrick Turner. Brunell. LT. Jim Leonhard and Thomas depending on how well they are recovering.
I would be happy not to see the following take to the field for the Jets next seen: - Hunter (obviously) - Burress - Mulligan - Conley - Smith - Pool
These guys can all be released next Monday IMHO. Mulligan, Folk, Conley, Burress, . Hunter if he won't take a pay cut as he will be a back-up OL. Also Smith if he won't restructure his contract.
Guys like Cro and Rhodes do not have the frame to hit like Smith, though. They need to watch tape on Asomugha to improve their technique wrapping players up. He has the same rangy, long, athletic frame that they do. It is all about technique and effort. Neither of which those two dickholes really care much for.
