Sorry to say, it looks to be 8-8., as this group is just not that great

down to Miami they will go for the new year, with Mark under pressure
    and playing with fear.

With Dustin,Holmes, and LT too, a few days in the sun before they are thru.

An it's on to the ganggreen to cry and moan as all the Jet players and fans watch the playoffs from home

Yet, April is just around the corner with promise and hope, as we go to the draft and pray our picks not a dope.

OTA's and training camp will soon follow with September opening right over the hill, all all unhappy Jets in December, back for the thrill.......an so it begins again

You think the Jets are going to fall over for Miami? Schottenheimer is pretty damn bad but the team can overcome his stupidity in a game like this. Plus it's a 1 pm game so it's not like they can start the game knowing they just got eliminated. I think the Jets win this one, Denver or Oakland loses, the Bengals lose, and the Titans / Texans game is a toss up. TT will make or seal the Jets' fate IMO

Sadly, I agree with you. I have a feeling the only game that will go against us is the Titans game. And if they do win, they certainly deserve the spot over us with wins over three playoff teams ... Houston, Denver, and Baltimore.

    I can live with that.
If Cincy or Oakland got the spot I would be much more pissed off.

Not sure if we will win, but the thing that worries me the most is the games we need to depend on..

WE WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS... I'm already crushed from yesterday.

    NEW YORK JETS
NY Jets clinch a wild card spot:
    1) NYJ win + CIN loss + TEN loss or tie + OAK loss or tie
    2) NYJ win + CIN loss + TEN loss or tie + DEN loss or tie

While they need a lot of help. I don't think the odds are too bad for the Jets to get in still.

I don't think anyone would be surprised to see...

Bengals lose to the Ravens (Ravens are playing for bye)
Titans lose to the Texans (Foster should run all over them)
Raiders lose to the Chargers or Broncos lose to the Chiefs (Tebow magic over?)

    ... I almost expect it.

The biggest hurdle is gonna be beating the Dolphins IMO.

Except Houston has nothing to play for and will rest their starters. Oh, and you've got to feel good about relying on the Chargers and Chiefs....on the road.

    Playoffs ain't happenin'

I don't think the Texans can afford to rest starters. They have to find some chemistry on offense and they have quality players in backup roles at RB and WR. They want to end the season of the Titans and go into the post season wit ha quality win for TJ Yates to gain some confidence that he can beat a decent playoff caliber team. Also the Defense doesn't want to get shredded by a running back against a team they would end up playing again in two weeks if the Titans make the playoffs as the #6 seed. So they have the incentive to keep out a very dangerous running game.

The Jets don't deserve the playoffs.

They didn't really deserve it two years ago. I don't remember anyone (Jets fans) complaining about it when they got to the AFCCG.

Bill Parcells always said the object is to get into the tourney. Deserve it or not, anything can happen if they get in.

I keep hearing this ... what am I missing here??

    Houston is 10-5
    Pitt is 11-4
    Baltimore is 11-4

if Houston wins to go 11-5, and both Pitt and Baltimore lose to go 11-5 ...

Ravens win the Division and Houston gets the #2 seed and a BYE based on a 9-3 conference record, vs 8-4 for Baltimore. Pitt would be the Wildcard based on two losses to Baltimore.
That would be HUGE for the Texans.

That's the way I'm seeing it.
    Am I getting something wrong?

    True Chances:

    NYJ beat the fish: 99%

CIN looses to the Ravens: 99%

TEN looses to the much better Texans: 99%

    OAK looses to anyone: 100%

    DEN looses to anyone: 100%

    of course.
    Damn ... we're fucked.
if I were the Texans, I wouldn't play a single starter.

nice fucking job, giving that game away to the Colts the other night!!

Absolutely, it makes no differenve how you played to get there. What counts is how you play once you get there.

Lets look at this realistically, dare I say we shouldnt want the Jets to make the playoffs only because then I fear the neccessary changes that have to be made will not happen, lets say we get in and happen to beat lets say the Texans cause I highly doubt the way we look this year we could beat anyone else in the postseason.Would you rather get in and go one and done or get one victory which would probably convince the front office to think about keepin Schotty or makin the front office think that hey maybe we arent so bad and not make all that many changes this off season or would you rather miss the playoffs and hopefully open their eyes about the changes that need to be made?Cause this aint last years team and hasnt beat anyone with a winning record all year oh yea except if ya wanna count that Cowboy game.Hey what do i know though everyone is probably going to get pissed at this.

LOL, having you been watching reruns of last years team? because i would agree with you somewhat (not 99 percent agree) but this years team is nowhere near what last years team was.

last years team was a superbowl contender from the get go! this years team is a pretender and has played like it.

You always wanto to get in, you never know what can happen. Any decent team can pull off a 4 game winning streak. As far as changes go, regardless of how we finish - rex is here to stay , the big question is do they finally dump the OC. As far as team and player upgrades go , the front ofiice is going to do that evaluation whether our season ends Jan1 or in Feb. In teh salary cap era of football No team can afford to stand pat.

The Titans lost to the Colts. Why can't they lose to the Texans, even if they play their scrubs?

the day they brought in moore as a consultant, shotty's days were numbered. that day had to be a big ile slap in the face for shotty and he knows this season was his last chance to show something.

he didn't and he's as good as gone during the first week jets are out of it.

There's a pretty good shot we lose to Miami.
