Many here blame Schotty, Sanchez, the OL, the safeties. Some blame Pettine, Tanny, the WR. Very few though criticize Rex. As much as I love the guy as an entertainer I do think he has some very big faults this year.

    1) Involvement on D
Why let Pettine call most of the plays on D? I get it, he, Pettine and Thurman are best bros... but still, I think this D has taken a step back this year.
As much as I like Pettine and wish him all the best for his career all I care about is what the Jets do on the field. And to me this year we haven't called the best games on D.
Especially with a short off-season I would've preferred Rex keeping most of the play-calling duties on D, instead of him trying to help a friend of his emerge.

    2) Involvement on O
Especially considering point 1 why didn't Rex get more involved in what the fuck was going on with the O!? Schotty's way of calling a game is clearly in contrast to what Rex wants and what Sanchez can run best. YOU'RE THE HC, SHOW SOME FUCKING BALLS AND TELL THE OC TO GET HIS ACT TOGETHER!
The problem here is bigger than this though, I really feel like Rex is a D only guy and has absoultely NO CLUE of how the game works on the offensive side of the ball... and this is scary.

    3) Motivational techniques
I think players are less and less motivated by Rex charade... this might be a problem going forward. He has to realize he has to tone it down sometimes, otherwise NOBODY will take him seriously.

    4) Too much loyalty
Loyalty to fellow workers (players and coaches) is a great thing... but you're not a coordinator anymore, you're the fucking HEAD COACH. And HC are the ones that have to make some tough calls during and at then end of the season. This season we'll see if he has the balls to get rid of guys who underperformed and if he stops over-estimating this roster/coaching staff. HC cannot be friends to all 53 players on the rosters.

Don't get me wrong, I love Rex and he has already done a lot for this team, but he shouldn't be immune to criticism.

PS: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ITALY (already midnight over here). Hope all of you enjoy the holiday in the best possible way...

Some of you fans are the worst fans in the world. A head coach finally brings this team some intrest and after one mediocre season, you want to trash him. Get real people rex isn't going anywhere for a while.

This, and I think it is possible to improve on both.

Lack of insistence on sound fundamental football: clock management, open field tackling, WR routes, ball protection (looking at you Sanchez), discipline (I'm looking at you Holmes), etc.

    Plus all that other stuff.

Some of you are fucking pathetic.

Sure he has flaws, but he can correct those flaws. The most important thing is that he has given us an identity. This year has been bad, the lockout was bad. This whole fucking season is just bad.

Next year, I have faith he can and will right the wrongs.

Last year time out management and challenges were Rex's problems this year he's been solid at both.

I can see why he's not calling as many defensive plays as before since I would guess Pettine bitched a little bit about not having a real say on defense. I thought the defense was really solid though today thought just really bad Tackling, also both Harris and Wilson biting on a curl route when Kyle should have followed Cruz, its not so much playcalling I just really see guys not executing the plays correctly.

I'm not saying he can't or won't correct his flaws, though I don't have a lot of confidence that he will - he may be too full of bluster, we shall see. BUT: if a team underachieves due to poor fundamentals, it's on the HC. It would be hard to convince me otherwise.

You are right. Way more important than a SB. Ignore the fact that we have gone from 2 straight AFC title games to 9 or fewer wins again and probably not making the playoffs instead of taking the next step.

He set the bar high (and talks a ton of shit), so he can be criticized.

It's just a critique. No one is saying they don't appreciate the past 2 years.

Its simple, the man would rather talk trash then make sure that the team is properly prepared. He can come up with a great game plan for ONE game but overall, he's more interested in showing off then working on fundamentals.

Jets play the same...and their loss of focus during games is obvious. If things don't go exactly their way, they wilt.

he's too loyal, which can be seen as a good thing. but when players aren't getting the job done, changes need to be made.

He talks to much crap, if your going to talk make sure you back it up otherwise you look dumb. Tired of the countless superbowl predicions just shut the fuck up and prepare your team better and for once make some personell changes in the offseason starting with Shotty. Also when Sanchez made that retarded timeout against New England he should of gottn in his face and chewed him out.
