If it's determined that one of the OT's is Munoz or Ogden-like and can solidify the right-side for Sanchez for the next 10 years, would you trade the Jets 1st round pick this year (probably high-teens or low 20's unless we get on a run) PLUS the #2 this year and probably #1 next year for the pick ? Assume the Rams pick 2nd or 3rd and teams desperate for a QB don't drive up the price. St. Louis fans/media want the pick traded (outside the idiots who want another QB to replace Bradford) even if they have a shot at Luck.
NO !! I am not talking about drafting Luck, I'm assuming Luck is chosen #1 and the Rams pick is #2 or #3.....would you make the trade of probably 3 picks (including 2 #1's, this year and next) to get a shot at a blue-chip tackle ????
Good job reading. I don't think the jets are in a position to move up that far. They need the picks they would have to give up to solidify other positions of weakness.
So you're going to trade up 18 spots for a RT? A Right Tackle? Not a Left Tackle, a Right Tackle? A Right Tackle? No.
If I had a DeLorean that could go 88 MPH and took you into the 2013 season and showed you a Jets team that was leading the Patriots by 3 games at 10-1 heading into an NFC game....and showing you some nondescript NFC pass rusher going past Wayne Hunter and separating Sanchez's shoulder with a broken clavicle (similar to the simple tackle that KO'd Richard Todd in 1978)......WOULD YOU STILL THINK IT WASN'T WORTH IT ?? lol With Mangold, DBrick, and a stud at RT, the line would be set for the rest of the decade.
I am thinking that we can address them via FA and that rather than draft quantity in the draft, go for quality. I'm not saying trade the entire draft for 1 guy like Ditka did, but I would give up 2 #1's and even a #2 to get the 2nd or 3rd pick.
I just have alot of heartburn thinking about trading DP's to move up in the draft. If our personnel pros do their homework thoroughly, we should be able, starting with this draft, to build depth. We'll just have to find another way to supplement Hunter on the right side until we find his replacement.
Lol. First of all, Jason Babin is a stud pass-rusher. Second of all, as bad as Hunter has been, unless one of the elite tackles fall, this team has too many needs and not enough depth to take a tackle in the first round, much less trade up.
No way. too much to give up for anything except maybe a qb. I don't know what kind of depth this draft has on o-line but generally we should be able to get a solid starting rt with a first rd pick
I would rather see them address the OL with proven players in free agency. Use the draft picks for building a monster defense.
Honestly there are only 3 prospects Id trade up for as the Jets , Blackmon, Richardson, and Burfict (although I don't think we'll have too) to me theyre the most pro ready prospects that fit the Jets needs.
Blackmon is an animal. Could you imagine our receiver corps? Blackmon-Holmes-Burress-Kerely, Keller-TE. hmy:hmy:hmy:
What ??? We did it for Sanchez 2 years ago. STRETCHING -- like we did for Robertson or Lam Jones (I was there in 1980 -- yuck) -- is totally separate. What I'd really like is to also get Steve Spagnullo to run our Defense if Petitine leaves.
I think there are too many holes to trade up for 1 player. i wish things could be solved with 1 pick but its gonna take more than that to take care of our lack of depth
We should STILL be getting production from Robertson and Ghoulston...missing out on Top 5 picks kills your team. :-(
