What kind of a stupid thread is this??That being said its Wayne Hunter or Eric Smith but we all already know this!
You know what, as much as I dislike Eric Smith I cant really fault him. He gets lit up every time the opposing team has a hint of talent on the TE position. But the Jets have overlooked the safety position far too long. And I have to put the blame on Jets front office. And I feel Slauson has been improving, he had a TD not too long ago, lol. I cant decide between Mulligan and Hunter.
Yeah I'm pretty sure ALL of the backups are worse than any of the players on that list (except for Mulligan, who IS a backup).
I had assumed that we were talking about starters or at least players who see a decent amount of playing time like Mulligan. Otherwise I would have certainly voted for Ducasse as there is a clear reason why Hunter starts over him.
E. Smith I give my vote to E. Smith as our weakest link. Hunter has had bad games but I think he has some shown their is some potential for him to start, I dont see that with E. Smith. Smith like everyone said is getting burned every week. An honoroble mention goes to our punter Conley. This guy is just too inconsistent for a great ST like the Jets have. I never understood why P's cant do their 2 jobs. A- Kick the shit out of the ball, B- Slow down the returner so someone with balls can tackle them. TE Mulligan is a bonehead but blocks well for the most part. His hands need to be sanded down a bit, its hard to catch with wooden hands. However he is young and eventually will learn how to count to 5! Hunter showed lots of potential last year, I think the ota's hurt him. I would like to see the Jets draft a S (preferable one that can cover a decent TE), sign a P, and sign a proven pass rusher IN HIS PRIME (not Jason Taylor). Also I dont think I would mind bringing Burress back, unless he is making more than B. Edwards ( for the same amount of money Id rather have Edwards).
I guess its all about progression. But his penalties have me screaming at my tv. All in all, he definitely doesnt belong with that group. As I stated in my previous comment. Cant believe its possible to be worse than Wayne Hunter.
The answer is obviously "other." If you think that Hunter sucks, then see what it looks like when Austin Howard or Caleb Schlauderaff are in there. That said, Eric Smith is probably the worst starting safety in the league and Matt Mulligan is probably my least favorite person in the history of professional sports.
