Coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that Braylon Edwards was a healthy scratch on Monday night.
Edwards has been dealing with knee and shoulder issues, but that's not why he sat. "We went with the three," Harbaugh said. "Felt like (Kyle) Williams, (Ted) Ginn and (Michael Crabtree) gave us the best chance." Edwards may be active in Week 16 thanks to Ginn's ankle injury, but he's buried on the depth chart.

I don't know if I want to resign a guy who can't beat out Ted Ginn.

I think Tanny knew something we didn't.

I wish he knew something we didn't about Hunter, Eric Smith and Ducasse.

I think he deserves a proper off season before we lump him with Hunter.

Agreed. How is bringing Edwards back a step forward?

What did he exactly know about Edwards? Edwards was very good two straight seasons for the Jets, not like he was a fluke. He keeps getting hurt in SF and all Alex Smith looks to throw are these quick short outs.

What does this have to do with Braylon?

Yeah and Braylon can't run those routes because he was never a great route runner.

Listen I wanted to keep Edwards more than anyone over Holmes all along due to his size and better rapport with Sanchez but I think it's time for us fans to move on at least until the seasons over. It's not unheard of for guys who struggle to return to a situation they thrived in so I think Edwards could be an option if the Jets want him back and the fact that I think Plax will command some interest in the open market would probably mean Edwards would be a cheaper option. The one thing I think the Jets would need to do though is make him feel wanted and Rex is good at that.

Braylon was a nice weapon for us and Sanchez had good chemistry with him. If we could get him for a reasonable price and keep our redzone guy in Burress that would be a great move IMO.

Braylon and Mark had good chemistry together. Braylon was very effective on deep patterns - which is something none of our current receivers do very well. His deep threat kept safties back which opened things underneath for Santonio and Keller.

I bet we could get him for peanuts now, although I'm not sure about his legal situation.

Which legal situation? I thought everything was resolved. Is there something new?

What Tannenbaum knew about Braylon Edwards was that he wasn't worth a #1 WR contract. Based on what happened when the Jets passed the rest of the NFL knew that too. He's going to be worth a #2 WR contract at the end of this season to the Jets and nobody else. Hopefully they can make that happen.

Were all charges dropped after the bar fight situation that happened this summer? I have not been staying abreast of him since he left town.

Also: didn't he get popped for a DUI this offseason?
