If some how all those other rules are tied which is basically impossible, there needs to be something to break that.
The team also lost 45-3, then lost 10-6 to a terrible Miami team, beat the Steelers coming down to the last play, then lost to Chicago. We had a lot of holes then too, and they creeped up in the AFC championship game. Everyone forgets how much panic there was last year before the playoffs. (I wasn't on this board, but from what I read here and other places there was.)
Yeah, the Jets are not as good as last year, but if they make the playoffs they will be eligible to win playoff games.
And the year before, by the way. I don't really get it...Did people think we were gonna win our last 6 games? But that's TGG. This is how it works.
My understanding is this: We have a WIN-AND-IN scenario UNLESS The Bengals GAIN a relative +9 in strength of victory points against us in the final 2 games.
The Jets arent as good as last year, but the competition isnt as good either and its not close. Our road to the Championship game right now would be Texans-Ravens. A lot easier than Colts-Patriots.
Did you miss the complete matador job by the OLine today? Hunter and Slauson were criminal out there.
And I'll take it, no question. But at least last year's team had some wiggle room being 9-3, then 9-4. The Jets now are hanging by a single thread.
i cant believe we still control our own destiny...I feel like JPP is going to eat Wayne Hunter alive next week
Apparently my tiebreaker calculations were incorrect. The relevant tiebreaker will most likely be "strength of victory" - a category where we hold a 10 game lead vs. the Bengals as of now (per Manish Mehta). I was incorrectly calculating "net points" instead of "strength of victory" So, basically, it's win and in - unless the Bengals' past opponents start winning at a crazy rate.
This is a ridiculous post as someone already pointed out. I will take the sixth seed at 10-6 with no complaints.
Can we come up with a gameplan with this in mind for christs sakes? Did we not know this would happen today?
Wayne Hunter is steaming garbage and Mark Sanchez is not Ben Roethlisberger at this point. I don't think the Jets can win in the playoffs this season because when they need to pass, which will happen eventually no matter how conservatively they play, they will not be able to keep Sanchez upright.
It would appear we did not. Either that, or people in the Jets organization are very wrong in evaluating Hunter's talent level.
