-Upgrade the Safety spot (Get rid of Eric "I always get burned" Smith) -Upgrade the RT spot (Get rid of Wayne "The turnstile" Hunter) IMO these two are top priority Then: -Add speed to the LB/DL core. (ie. We need another pass rusher. Mario Williams would be amazing or Cliff Avril) -WR (Vincent Jackson would be amazing. Unlike Santonio Holmes, he's a true #1 WR or draft two WR in the draft there alot of them) -Maybe add a Forte or Foster to get a true #1 RB but this is unlikely. Maybe a Michael Bush is realistic
The Jets need to start building through the draft so they're not always bringing in a high-priced free agent who may or may not fit the team but will almost certainly be gone in a few seasons either way. The only difference between Terry Bradway and Mike Tannenbaum is that Tannenbaum trades up for good players in the draft most of the time instead of mediocre ones. Oh, and Tannenbaum is his own cap guru. The thing that got Bradway fired as GM was the collapse of the o-line. The Jets are a Mangold injury away from a total collapse of the o-line and 4-12 next season.
We should sign everyone because we have so many holes. Lets get real. We'll be lucky if we can afford a safety like Dashon Golston or Michael Griffin. If a thread is started on this subject, can we PLEASE get back to reality and think of REAL possibilities.
So what kind of Madden world are you living in. Looking forward to having Vincent Jackson Mario Williams and Foster next year.
Wouldn't mind a Golston or Griffin if that is all we could afford. TE's have been killing us for god knows how long. And sign a veteran RT that won't cost much. Hunter cannot start next year.
Hunter has not progressed since last saeson and is going to get Sachez killed. Our speed at safety is killing us. Celek ran away from our safeties by 20 yards. We desperately need another receiver. Plax made a grat catch but he is never open in the middle of the field.
This safety class is really weak. FA is better suited for that. We should draft two WR's, a potential starting RB (don't like Powell) and LB/DL depth.
Hunter is 30 years old. Players don't progress when they have established by the age of 29 that they are not starting material. A few games in a row where they don't kill you? Sure that can happen. But a 29 year old career backup RT/TE is never going to be a decent starting RT at the age of 30.
