Quite obviously RR mouth has put him in a corner wearing the dunce cap since we are hanging by our fingernails for a PO spot. As the NYGs also have to win next weeks game it should be a dozy if we get past Philly & the NYGs get past Wash. We may have some hope if the NYGs win @ 1300 hours since that will tell the Iggles they will go golfing after the last regular season game. If I was Jackson I would take the super lazy pill to insure I am not injured since he wants the super big contract if they are eliminated by our game time.
ESPN is more likely to say: 'Have the Jets lost their bark? In the next hour we will ask Jets experts Rich Cimini, Mark Canizarro, and Mike Florio and ask them if Tim Tebow has had an effect on the Jets lack of trashtalk.
Really???? No excuses??? I completely disagree. No matter what anyone says, the schedule makers at the NFL home office screwed the Jets this season. Three road games in a row ending with the Pats????? Playing Denver at Denver after a home Sunday night game vs the Pats????? The Jets lost all four of those games. Does anybody really think the Jets lose that Denver game if it were played with a full week's rest??? Preparing a defense for the most unusual offense played in the NFL in decades with one full day of practice????? I know the Jets don't lose that game if it is played on Sunday instead of Thursday. That game was a scheduling joke and it may cost the Jets a playoff spot. And how do we know if there will be no excuses going forward? How do we know that a bad call or something else that shouldn't happen will not cost the Jets a game. I hate that term "no excuses."
You are just making excuses for the NYJs if they die again instead of winning the SB this season. Always remember to be the best you have to beat the best. What kind of excuses can you drum up for not winning NOTHING since 01/13/69?
The struggling economy? The Cold war? Woody can't sell enough PSLs so the team is low in morale? :breakdance:
So, the Jets got put behind the 8 ball with scheduling. In retrospect, I kind of like it. This team plays better under pressure, in the face of adversity. I think they still make the playoffs, and I think they will be a better team in the post season because of the scheduling fiasco. I am tired of feeling like a victimized Jets fan, because I know the team is anything but the slightly above average victims that they were with a lesser coaching staff and roster over the years. I think they're ready. Screw the doomsday scenarios.
Jets don't lose that game if only the D played the last drive the way it played the entire game. We changed our D on that drive an paid the price. Even then, we don't lose if Eric Smith had a little sense. Its got nothing to do with the scheduling. The scheduling gave us a piece of cake finish towards the end with the Giants game being the toughest. If u can't beat ANY good teams in the year, you don't deserve the playoffs. Jets don't deserve the playoffs if they can't beat the Giants.
Actually, the Giants game is the least important of the three (except for bragging rights). If they win today and beat Miami, the Jets make the playoffs unless the Titans win out. So the Giants game could be completely meaningless. Don't get me wrong, I would love the for Jets to beat the Giants and knock them out of the playoffs and put big mouth Giants fans who can't take the Jets recent prominence. But let's not attach artificial importance to that game and say the Jets don't deserve to be in the playoffs if they don't beat the Giants. Who cares how a team gets in the playoffs?? The Jets will be 6 seed whether they make the playoffs with 9, 10, or 11 wins.
I hope you are right. I am not as confident as you and I hated this year's schedule the day it came out. It pisses me off that the NFL's darlings Patriots avoid a Sunday night game this week so they don't have to play on 5 days rest while the Jets had the ridiculous road trips they had this year with the Pats in the middle of both. I also think the Christmas Eve game against the Giants hurts the Jets. A good many people are going to be giving up their tickets because of the holiday and that means the stadium is going to half full of Giants fans. Put that game early in the year on a Sunday and the regular STHs attend.
