Is going to the Linc rooting for the road team actually dangerous?

Philadelphia is a shit city with shitty people so yeh you'll prolly get the shit kicked out of you but if the jets win it'll all be worth it.

I think you'll be fine rooting for the other team, but for the love of Gawd, if you're parking your car there, make sure there's no Jets stuff on it.

With the Eagle fans rooting for the Jets this weekend, just pick up a cheap Vick jersey (should be a lot of them) and cheer for the Jets! You can even lead the Jet chant with your Vick jersey on and get cheered!

    Best of both worlds!

Bunch of brutal savages in Philly. For your own safety I wouldn't advise this. Stay as far away from that shithole as possible.

This is something a friend of mine posted after going to a game in philly as an opposing fan. Granted it was Cowboys Eagles game, but still.

Oh yea and this was a game that the Eagles embarassed the Boys, let alone if they were to be losing, which is what you will be hoping for if you go Im sure.

    +1

Based on the number of drunken maniacs I saw starting fights in the stands last time the Eagles played in our house, I wouldn't go near that place, at least not with any Jets gear on. Worst fans in the NFL.

chances are you won't get physically assaulted.

but they will verbally harrass you and you will probably get some shit thrown at you, food/coins/etc.

Agree with everything that's been said here, they are not only the worst fans in the NFL, but worst in the country and right up there with the English hooligans. Joe Madden (coach of the Rays) was walking with his little girl during the World Series when a kid flipped them the finger and told them to fuck off. The kid's dad told him well done and spit at them.

I've heard first hand accounts of all sorts of shit like this and also beat downs, busted car windows, getting shit grabbed right off you, and that's in the good parts of town

Only go there, if you're willing to hit first when it looks menacing.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - The World Series Defense

    "Philly fans are brutal."

That's what this whole debate reminded me of.. *goes to watch that episode*

I was also there in 2003 for a Pats game. I went with a friend who got us tickets. He was a Raider fan who went in civies, while I wore my Pats jacket and hat.

I caught a lot of sh!t going into the game, but nothing nasty. But then I'm 6'2 220, or at least that's what I was then. During the game the fans in my section were pretty nice, and I enjoyed the banter. What I found interesting was the the Eagles fell behind early and by the middle of the 2nd quarter the fans had turned on the Eagles. They wanted Reid's job and McNabb benched.

I mean talk about tough, this was a team that had been to the NFCCC the 2 previous years and would go to the superbowl the next year, and they couldn't get to half time before they were killing their own team. They make Jet fans seem like pussy cats.

You shouldn't have any trouble as long as you remember that you're a guest at someone else's stadium. I've been to a bunch of stadiums for Pats games. its usually a lot easier to get tickets. and I haven't had any problems.

Good luck in Philly. Not a bad city for restaurants after the game.
