since we're all suggesting Maybin do things hes never been asked of why not just have him play WR? He's tall and probably faster than Plaxico.
Only Fido should still be afraid of Vick at this point. As others have said, I'm not sure why so many get so nervous at a "challenge" (their record shows otherwise) when our team HAS to show improvement and be able to beat tough teams. I didn't always think this way, and watching some of our close calls was nerve-wracking. Since I've begun to feel this way, I've found games to be much less stressful to watch. If we lose to the Eagles when we have to win games like this, then we probably aren't/weren't going to do much in the postseason. Is it a disappointment if we lose? Sure, because it means we weren't good enough; it's not bad just because we won't squeak into the playoffs when we don't deserve to. I am truly excited for this game and I want to see what we're made of. I have faith that we will get the job done this week.
The fact that Vick stated after the Dolphins game he is not going to run as much, will focus on being a pocket passer, is still in pain, and only had two rushes against the Dolphins should limit what he does. He hasn't been accurate this season with his throws so he will turn it over. Getting a hit or two on him early is key to get those ribs hurting. On offense the Eagles have allowed a lot of big running play - dominate the LOS and run the ball down their throats. Use the screen pass to LT against them to limit their pass rush. Mix it up and keep them on their heels all day!
I think this game comes down to their very bad LBs. Gotta hope that we see a heavy dose of Greene and Keller in this one. We need to establish time consuming drives keeping their O off the field. They will get a few big plays, especially w our D trying to apply heavy pressure. As long as we can limit these big plays, and put together a few long drives we should be able to controll the pace of the game.
A couple of things scare me about this game. 1. Vick....the running QB's are always a wild card for the Jets 2. The Eagles defense is not very good and it seems like a game where the offense should and will need to put up points. Generally when we play in games where we should take advantage of a weak defense our offense struggles. 3. McCoy...obviously we have not been as stout against the run as we have been the past two years. 4. Desean Jackson...I know he has been dogging it but with Vick back he may be more focused. This guy is a burner and if we have to rely on our safeties to break up some deep passes I am not comfortable with that.
agree on all points.... also, involving point 3, they run alot of sweeps and plays to the outside, which have caused us the most trouble. also on point 2, there biggest weakness i think has been their secondary, and we have yet to exploit poor secondaries, or those with injuries.
If the Jets win, this would be the blueprint I feel better with play variety and timing of the calls with Moore on board
The games I have seen of the eagles they are bad tacklers. Getting to that second level could defintely mean some big plays in the running game. I think Greene with his brusiing running style could have a big day.
In order to beat Miami, Philly had to turn them over three times in 9 minutes for 21 points. Not gonna happen here. Prepare for this game. Worry about the Giants.
I don't think we match up very well defensively against these guys. This could end up being a shootout.
Its not that the Eagles are good team, its about matchups. The Jets got gashed when fast RB's went to the outside. Eagles have a metric fuck-ton of speed behind the OLine. That's the matchup I'm worried about. If the Jets get contain, they should win. Hou & Pitt match up well against us. Houston lost to Balt, our defense is the similar, not as good, but our offense is better. So Hou to me is a win. Pitt is very similar to us. Also a good matchup. I have more confidence the Jets can win against Pitt this year. Ravens is a toss up also but as long as our OLine is the intact heading into that game. Pats is a toss up when its BB vs RR. Jets weakness is gashed on the outside, and big TE's receiving fuckers. LULz @ Jets vs GB.
thank you for correcting my language! I'm from germany , sorry for not writing as good as you do (!) i meant that the eagles aren't playing at the same level every week
Assuming the Cowboys win on Saturday, I'd like to see the Giants win a close one at 1 pm on Sunday. That would eliminate the Eagles right before the game with our Jets, and probably deflate them. That would also cause the Giants to have nothing to play for against the Jets, another plus.
how do we not? cro's skill set is perfect against 9 route WRs like jackson. revis should handle maclin and kw matches up well with avant celek is a good TE but vick uses his TEs far less than he did when he was in ATL vick is vick and mccoy is scary good ... but no defense matches up well with those two
