Eagles still in the play off hunt will make this week that much more tough. This game will be a "Our Defense" vs. "Their Offense" type of game. Ex Factor for the JETS - Aaron Maybin. I would spy Vick with this guy and only this guy. If he can harass Vick the way we hope and need him to it'll open up everything else for us. My biggest concern is that the JETS are coming off a dominating victory and then going on the road to play a good Eagles team. I just hope they aren't stuck on this weeks high.
I can see this being like the Denver game - except we will close the deal and win this game in the 4th quarter. Vick and McCoy may run all over us in the 1st quarter but I think the defense will adjust and take away the run game, forcing Vick to throw and make some costly mistakes. If Mark doesn't counter and toss a pick or 2 himself, then we win this game which allows us to POSSIBLY afford to lose to the Giants on Christmas Eve.
wilson goes to #2 corner, strickland #3, cromartie to FS and maybin to SS. "But that's crazy" you say....yes it is crazy...so crazy it just might work...muahahahahaha /kidding //just having fun with the "what if" talk
I've been saying that since Preseason. He's the perfect type of new prototypical Safety to counter the athletic TE's that are taking over the league.
This is definitely a game I am worried about. The Eagles are fast and just took down a resurgent GayShark team. If Vick starts playing at the level he was earlier in the season, it could be a long day for the Jets. Hopefully Rex doesn't talk to Rob this week.
It's funny how people still think the Eagles are a good team. If the Jets go in with the offensive gameplan they had against the Chiefs they will gash this defense on the ground and with screens. As long as the Jets don't get themselves in a situation where they have to throw the ball a lot they will win the game.
There is not a player in their front 7 that can defend against the run, not even a little bit. The only guy on offense that worries me is McCoy and he has not been playing well.
If you want a team to panic about, try the Giants. They have a legitimately good offense and it's doubtful whether or not the Jets have the players to capitalize against their awful secondary. McCoy has been the only consistently good player on offense for the Eagles this year. Vick has been a turnover machine and whether Jackson isn't getting open downfield or Vick can't get him the ball the Eagles passing attack has been very pedestrian this year.
i dont see us winning unless we drop close to 30 points. we dont seem to do well with mobile or running QBs. i can see vick shaking loose and finding those playmakers for huge gains. offensively, we SHOULD be able to do whatever we want... but you can say the same about us playing a terrible pats defense twice, and it didnt happen. hopefully tom moore is calling the shots now
Very scary game. Eagles have lots of speed, a quality which gives the Jets alot of trouble. However, Jets have certain matchup advantages, that they can exploit.
This is the game Vick will be allowed to run around which scares me. Greene should bust huge gains up the middle on the Eagles but I think the key to the game is Sanchez not turning the ball over and getting time in the pocket. The Jets D will need to contain Vick and D.Jackson who I think will be highly motivated to make Revis look human.
Jets got this. Maybin is fast as hell & capable of running down Vick if they're both in the backfield. Vick will extend plays but not enough. DeSean Jackson will be held in check because Jets always shutdown the best wide receiver .... thank you Revis. Eagles LB are terrible & that's why they get killed by spreading out those DE so wide. Jets will chew up clock & put up TD & jump ahead. Which will leave Maybin on the field more often because Vick will need to play catchup. Plus, fuck Aso. Dissed the Jets because he felt the Eagles had a better shot @ SB. Now his team is below .500, Jets have #6 seed & even his old team the Raiders have chance to jump back into the playoff picture.
The key to this game is simple: Run, Run, and Run some more. Then hit them with the play-action and the screens. The Eagles give up 4.4 ypc. Greene and Tomlinson should get a steady dose of carries in the first. The Jets can eat up the clock and keep the Eagles offense off the field.
well i know i am in the minority but IMHO the jets will have a rough ending to the season and it starts with the eagles. hope to god i am wrong but its just one of those nagging things.
i'm hoping that vick does not have his timing sharp yet, this is going to be tough just because of it being on the road period, not to mention who we're playing, a team with the ability to put some points up when they're running on all cylinders, hopefully they are still a week or two away from that.
