Has there been an explanation for this? At least last week they put Mcknight in there because they wanted a spark, I think we were down or what not, but this week, we were WINNING by 7, so why the hell did we put Cro back there?!
Well Cro has big play capability so the idea was that if he breaks a big one we could crush the spirits of the Bills and take over the game. It backfired and wasn't a smart choice to begin with it imo
Leonard had the wind knocked out if him on the previous play, so they asked cro to just go out there and fair catch.
Yeah, Kerley being out hurts our special teams quite a lot. Patrick Turner doesn't look terrible as a third receiver, but Kerley is very valuable on special teams.
You know, this bullshit about Leonhard being hurt is such a lame excuse. You still don't put a knucklehead back there who hasn't fielded a punt since the Carter administration. Everybody with a couple of brain cells to rub together could see the risk of putting Cromartie back there. The guy hates contact for fucks sake. Last year Revis took punts in an emergency. No reason not to have him do it there. Order him to take a fair catch if you're afraid he's going to get hurt. But a good staff would have another option before you just throw anyone out there.
Lets not get Crazy. Cro can take a Punt to the house. THe problem is he heard the coaching staff too clearly. They wanted him to hear, take that *unt home, baby.
Hopefully this makes the coaching staff realize that Cromartie should stay away from kickoffs and punts unless we are down by a lot and need a spark. He had the one great return against the colts last year, but this year has had a lot of trouble
That was Rexs excuse after the game. Bullshit. If you watch the play again..thats the play where Nelson drops the ball and Leonhard nails him thigh high. You see Leonhard look to the bench as if to say am I back..and someone tells him to get off the field...and he runs off the field. Next thing you know....Crom. is back receiving the punt. Anyone that taped it..watch it. Thats exactly how it played out.
