I can streamline it even more: 1. Competent, championship-calibre offense. 2. Competent, championship-calibre defense. That will seal the deal...
1 - a stud pass rusher who opposing DCs actually need to worry about 2 - a beast who can get to the QB 3 - someone who can actually be in the top 15 in sacks. 4 - anybody who can take Mulligan's spot on the roster.
A quaterback that wants to win it all and a running back that can stay healthy a coach that knows he can lose and a defense that haves fun. Go JETS! I still believe
I'll settle for one ... since every QB we face can play the game in a fucking tuxedo. I'm tired of this bullshit.
I am starting to see a trend of people completely blaming Sanchez and giving the Oline a pass and vice versa. Hence your boy Milcus stating the number one need is a new QB.
#1 RT- Fuck Wayne Hunter. #2 OLB- Maybin is fast, but he's not ready to be "the guy" yet. #3 Safety- Obvious #4 RB. Before you call me retarded, let me explain. Greene doesn't seem to be the answer and Sanchez needs a strong running game to be successful. He's way better when he's running play action. A premier back, like Matt Forte, would bump everyone's game up across the board. If Chicago won't pay him, Woody should.
Peyton Manning has never had a line as good as what the Jets have this year. I think its vastly exaggerated how bad the line has been quite honestly. Brick is having a mediocre year, but Slauson, Mangold and Moore (after Mangold got back) have been solid. Wayne Hunter was an obvious mistake - if I remember correctly we all were worried once Big Wood was not brought back (still dont get why they didn't bring him back once the season started). However, as bad as Sanchez is against the blitz, speaks more to him being an idiot and a bad qb. Logically, when you dont have time, an intelligent qb gets rid of it quickly and doesn't hold onto it. Seriously, go watch a Brady, Manning or Rodgers play when they are going up against the blitz. They get rid of the ball instantly and dont take foolish hit after foolish hit. Sanchez has never done that. So, Manning would make the line look better by not forcing them to block for what to them must feel like an eternity when a blitz comes. And, I am certain that Hunter and Vlad will not be starting at RT next year, so that will take care of most of the problems.
See my comment above. And unlike ace_o_spades, I explain why I think what I do. Agree or disagree is up to you, but I support my arguments and dont feel the need to disagree by calling people retards, even though that would be appropriate after ace_o_spades response...
1. Clone Aaron Maybin 2. Have him and his clones play at every defensive position 3. Vernon Gholston at quarterback 4. Super Bowl!
Cro's non-play on the Tebow TD run plus Rex's desire to build a defense from the DB's in (VS the traditional D-line out) will put a physical DB at the top of Rex's draft list once again. Cro's non-play HAS to be burning a HUGE hole in Rex's brain. As far as Plex VS Braylon, the way Plex is playing I really don't see a lot of teams beating a path to his door to offer him a mega-deal in year 2. Plus if Plex stays, we will all be saying how much better our Offense will be with Plex having a solid year of learning under his belt (alongside his 9mm). If the Jets upgrade their Safeties on D and O-line on O we will be back in the top 5.
That's my list in a nutshell. I would go with any WR who can stretch the field were it not for the fact that Sanchez is never going to settle down if they keep giving him new dance partners every year. Edwards is far and away the best WR of that type likely to be available to the Jets next season and he and Sanchez already know each other.
Jets will need Braylon, Plax or not; Plax was never a burner. He was a jump-ball catcher. Current Jets WR corp is completely devoid of that 70+ yd burner threat *that Braylon is.* Cro actually needs to go - if his inconsistent play keeps up, he had better be sent packing. If Wilson steps up to the challenge, I don't see why not. Jets will need another #3 corner - or Strick can play that role. I also think Greene is not the answer at the RB. Marshawn Lynch wanted to play for the Jets - he turned out to be a total beast for Seattle. That's a missed chance on Tannenbaum's part. We all know what other needs are out there: stud OLB pass rusher, starting quality safeties, RT that can actually block, a TE that doesn't disappear from time to time, etc.
Safety and Tight End are not the probable this draft un fourtuantly but Psss rushers and O-line seem to be the flock
Dude, really? The fucking Patriots were getting constant pressure on Sanchez rushing four, sometimes THREE! The Jets line this year is shit. Sanchez has played like shit but trust me the line has a bigger effect since it also hurts the run game. My comment was about people being either or when it came to the line and Sanchez when it is painfully obvious that they are both bad right now, with the former being a big reason for the latter. Slauson has been mediocre, D'Brick has been at times fucking disgraceful compared to his last two seasons, Moore is done after next season, and Hunter is garbage, only Mangold is playing well, that's it. We have no depth at the position, going for QB and WR over linemen is ridiculous.
