I am so sick of these reporters asking the same questions after each game. Why doesn't someone ask Rex or Sanchez, How come you didn't throw down field once? Why the same short passes every game? It's funny because when I watch Jets Post game live, Ray Lucas, Joe Klecko and Adam Scein always wonder that yet nobody asks the coach and the quarterback each game. Last night Lucas went on and on about not throwing down field. Why don't any of the reporters ask real tough questions? Don't even get me started on Jeanne Coakley. She is horrible.

They wouldn't get any real answers out of Rex or Sanchez anyway.. just things like "I have to do a better job blah blah blah"

The only chance you have for someone to tell the truth and say it's because this offensive system sucks and Schitty sucks ass, is for Holmes or Burress to snap after one game and let loose.

Its funny because one of the things we like(d) about Rex was how he seemed to speak his mind and didnt just give the same old crappy press conferences that every other coach gave full of coach speak and meaningless platitudes but every conference I see nowadays just has him mumbling the same tired excuses while Sanchez mopes around going on about how he has to do better and its all on him.

Why doesn't Schotty have a press conference.....that prick never has to defend himself.

They should let some fans in the press conference room and let them ask the real questions that we all want to hear the answers to.

Those press guys don't want to rock the boat and have their press passes canceled!!!!!

    The answer you will get:

Well GB, we do call these shots, but you gotta remember back in his first year a shot called was a shot taken.... blah blah blah... and when we call the shots the defense sometimes takes them away, so now Mark will check it down when its not there.

Potential follow up question that I wish would get asked:

Well, so by your logic, Mr. Schotty, since we only threw deep one time last night, woudl you say that perhaps your play calling is too predictable if on the other numerous "shots taken" the defense was ready for them?

He does, every Thursday (in a normal week), there's a Rex, Schotty, Pettine and Westhoff (He has the best ones!) press conference. You can see them on the Jets site.

The only two really worth watching are the Rex and Westhoff ones.

I understand the point of the thread and dont mean to derail but I have a question. Why are so many fans so in love with Rex's pressers?

I htink hes a fat bafoon who embarrasses himself every time he opens his mouth.

Were we so starved for an identity as a fan base, that we are willing to jump up and down every time Rex curses or calls for a snack?

I cant stand listening to him talk. I think hes a fat ignorant douchebag

He doesn't throw the long one over the top for a couple of reasons.

1- Plax runs slow. Edwards and Cotchery could actually get past a DB.
2- He only has about 2 seconds to react because he's under pressure constantly.

It's because he does not have answers, he just doesn't. He is still stunned by that last drive.

Pretty much that is it. No deep threats. Really, no one. Perhaps Holmes or McKnight, but are you really going to send a RB on a deep pattern? McKnight may be the fastest player on the team.

You have to at least take a shot or two down field to keep the defense honest. This team takes NO shots down field.

I am not blind. I can see that. I am just saying as a reporter/interviewer she is horrible.

I agree with these in concept, but Edwards and Cotchery have been complete non-factors this year because of injuries and would not have helped the team. Can we get off that? Keeping both and having them inactive for all but a game or two so far would not have changed this season one bit.

The Jets have no speed and the OL has sucked. You can point to Sanchez all you want, but when the team goes from one of the best running teams in the league the past two years to one of the worst this year and the number of sacks has almost doubled, that highlights the problem. Sanchez needs his receivers to get open, needs a running game to set up the pass, and needs time. He has not had any of these.

Agreed, Hunter is getting beat like a drum, and Brick also. All-Pro Left Tackle. I don't think so. The offensive line is like a sieve. Letting Woody retire has turned out to be a HUGE mistake.

Last year he had deep threats, this year he doesn't. I don't see how you think I'm pointing to Sanchez with that statement? I never said they should have kept them (I dislike Edwards alot), but they should have replaced one or both with a deep threat.

As far as how those guys are playing this year...

Edwards gets 3 or 4 catches per week in an offense that doesn't throw much, but usually he's 2nd on the team to Crabtree. Cotchery isn't getting deep balls for the Steelers because they already have Wallace. However, he has supplanted Ward as the #3 receiver, which seems to mean they think he's pretty good.

" My team needs to step up..No question."
"The playoffs start today.. No question"
"We'll be ready to play.. No question"

This is becoming repetitious.. No question..
