Contender for the Super Bowl, The Colts would make the playoffs by default and lose in the first round. They don't have the team around Manning to go all the way. And Manning would actually get rid of the ball or fall down before being sacked, and, we can actually replace them (slauson/hunter) during the offseason, he will be playing behind the best center in football though and a great LT in Brick. Not to mention he will actually have a defense and won't have to be superman every game, and he will have a SB mvp to throw to in Holmes, and he will make Keller look like Tony Gonzales catching passes.

Super Bowl..No. Playoffs yes and there wouldn't any talk of Luck.

So you want him to come to the Jets and play behind this horrible O-line.....if he was healthy....Yes!! I would be all for it. But he has had two surgeries on his neck in one year!

Then they need to give tons of $$$$...He ain't coming cheap! Does he even fit under the cap? Will there be any $$ left for OL, WR, Safties.....and don't say the draft because those all went bye bye to get Manning.

You realize Manning would only be making 4 million more than Sanchez? Now that is crazy. It would be a net gain of 4 million on the cap, (if we kept his current contract, and that won't happen because it was signed prior to injury) and we have saved well more than that for next season.

Your alternative is to leave a awful QB in Sanchez leading this team, and we are not winning with him. The Colts o line is worse than ours and Manning survived that, there is no reason he cannot come here and win.

So in effect you could have Manning playing here for LESS money than what Sanchez is making this season. And we don't have to trade for manning, the Colts may feel the better way to handle it is to just release him seeing as they CAN'T trade him. And so it is Peyton's choice if he consents to being traded or not, because that is in his contract.

So you honestly believe Indy is going to let manning just leave without getting anything in return. I don't think so.

There is no guarantee he signs for less....he gave Indy a hometown discount so they could sign other players. The Jets would not be getting a discount from a QB who would be signing his last contract especially if he believes his neck is fucked.

And you still haven't commented on the issue of Manning being healthy next year. If you can tell me that he will return to the Manning of 3-4 years ago...then maybe. Why would Indy give away a healthy Manning for an unproven Luck. If Manning is truly healthy he could play for 3-4 more years and they already know what they have in a QB.

And is Sanchez really awful or is it the coaching and OC that suck....I would be more willing to give him another year under a different OC and see what they really have in him then give away the house.

why you malign Sanchez so much? most of his failures can be attributed to things he can't control. He's still a very poised young quarterback playing behind porous OL with questionable playmakers for WR. In a vacuum, he's still the prototypcial franchise QB. HIGH football IQ, ability to make every throw, excellent athleticism to make plays with his feet.

    Yes....I agree.

Lets get some new coaching in there. They saw something in him to make him the number 1 pick.

Lets see if it's really sanchez or not...we will never now unless Schotty is gone!

If he was poised he would't have thrown that pick 6. High football IQ would mean better clock management. He's not improving.....I am starting to doubt big time. I know there are other problems but all he had to do was manage the game...not make bone head plays and we win. It's happening too often. The fake spike...football IQ?

And how does one improve? Coaching and having an OC that can spot the problems that he has and correct them. Call plays that he knows will give a QB a chance to compete....play to his strengths and not to his weaknesses.

Sanchez does not have a support system in Scotty...he has a hard enough time calling plays.

They will never know what they have in Sanchez until they get him in a different coaching
    system....this one doesn't work

The Jets have invested nothing in Sanchez besides time and money. They did not give up a lot to trade up for him. They have not had a qb sitting there that Sanchez was blocking.

If Schotty goes, Sanchez has to go too. I get this notion of he's young and he should get 5/6 years, but how does that usually turn out for bad qb's like David Carr, etc... They never get better, and chances are Sanchez never will either. If you think this is a SB caliber roster, like the head coach does, you simply cannot continue to put Sanchez in there. It's why it is beyond retarded that Brunell is here (what is the point of a back-up who the team has no confidence in?), and it is why Peyton Manning must be the qb of the New York Jets come training camp.

Staying the course is a recipe for wasting the prime years of the top players on this team, and deprives them of a real chance to win a SB or two.

Jets should dump Schotty and keep Sanchez for a year at least. Who knows what Sanchez will do with a better OC? Look how Brees improved into a great QB when he got out of SD.

    Why?

That doesn't make any sense. If no QB has done well under schoddy why would you dump a 3rd year top pick who has only played under schit for brains?

Eli was the same way in 06. Giants fired their OC and he got much better, 2 years later he wins a SB

High IQ? He still has no pocket presence and cant read a defense. What IQ are you even talking about??? Hes the reason why the WRs are having a down year.
