I'm 17 years old, jets fan for 4 years I live in Brazil so we rarely could watch more than 2 games per week, that is until 2009, now we get to watch up to 5 games per week. But anyway, i've obviously never been to jetlife stadium and i just want to know one thing Is the "J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS" chant the only thing that we sing in the stadium? I mean, it would be pretty cool to see 80000 people singing the chorus of "rex's gang green", its not a great song but the chorus is awesome
There have been Jets fight songs through the years but nothing really catches on. The J E T S is the only thing going on in the stadium besides the "...and thats another Jets!" ... then 80k people say "FIRST DOWN!"
Also, I believe that on several occasions I have heard 80,000 people shouting in unison, "oh for FUCK'S SAKE Schottenheimer!"
its epic when they do it though - ed is up on the screen - i remember one year i was in south Florida at a jets dolphins game and the jets had a shutout so they stadium was half empty by the fourth - we started the chant and the echo was crazy... made your whole body shake - i like the chant it really gets you pumped - especially when youve had a few bottles of guinness
I actually liked the 'First Down' cheer, until I realized just about every other stadium in the NFL does the same thing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5ETPoQuoog Its this song, made during last year's playoff it would be awesome 80k people singing the chorus part "We are from new york, we back the smack talk..."
+10000000000000000000 In the Walton years people used to chant "Joe Must Go!" IRRC And of course "Kotite Sucks" is another old standby. I'd love a serenade "TAAAAAAMMMMMMMMY" once Brady gets his butthurt face going in the game.
That's actually not a bad track - the lyrics are pretty tight. The production leaves a lot to be desired but it's a hell of a lot better than most of the other Jets-themed songs I've heard.
It's unfortunate that we don't have fight songs in the NFL like there are in soccer (or at some college football games). The J-E-T-S chant is awesome and always gets me amped whether it's in the stadium or in a bar filled with Jets fans, but a real fight song would be that much more fuckin awesome.
