Unconfirmed: JoePa has addressed the team and is stepping down. Will know more in about 15 mins or so.
He was the F'ing boss of the program. If not, he would have been "retired" 10 years ago when it was time to go. According to the police, the f'ing janitors knew Sandusky was banging kids in the team showers. Let me see: you have 40+ year old man who sets up a charity that gives him access to underprivileged kids. He is constantly hanging around with 10 year old boys who are not his sons. Throw in the allegations from 1997 and you don't need to be fucking Columbo to know that something weird is going on. Instead of looking into it, JoPa adopted the Mr. Magoo defense.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footba...-Matt-Millen-gets-emotional-?urn=ncaaf-wp9465 Matt Millen's very interesting take on all of this. I gained a lot of respect from this guy for this.
Wow. So people are more concerned about worshiping Paterno than the victims? Talk about having your priorities out of whack.
At one point, he said they to make sure this "doesn't bite them in the Ass." Very poor choice of words.
there are people who celebrated and applauded Michael Jackson, and he did the actual child fucking, so it isn't a surprise people would side with someone who was simply complicit in his indifference about child fucking.
Really? A 12 minute interview of honesty and emotion. I think we can call the off the PC watch for that.
I don't think Sandusky is being accused of biting anyone in the ass, so it is hardly a poor choice of words. you act like he said he hopes it "doesn't fuck them in the ass and come in their 10 year old mouths."
No. I wasn't trying to be funny. I listened to a long interview in which a grown man cried about how the man he knew would not do something that we all know that he did. How do we know that? We know that because JoePa testified before the grand jury that he knew about allegations involving Sandusky no later than 2002. Nevertheless, he never called the cops or made sure that someone else did. He knew that Sandusky was bringing little boys into Penn State's football facilities after 2002 - he did nothing. Given that Penn State officials allowed little boys to get anally abused, I don't think anyone involved with Penn State should worry about anything "biting them in the Ass." Millen's poor choice of words reflects an ongoing refusal to admit reality by the Penn State faithful. They are in a shit storm. They need to start cleaning up their mess, not pretending that it is not their fault.
I think Paterno isn't the main culprit here - meaning Sandusky and the others who actually lied under oath bear more responsibility - but to cheer and applaud anyone on that campus who had ANYTHING to do with this horrible episode is disgusting, and I agree about the MJ analogy.
Well said. Sandusky is the most responsible. The others, including JoePa, deserve various levels of blame for their inaction. But, the heinousness of crime means all of them have a lot of blame on their shoulders.
These are sad days for Penn Staters. We were the example of how college athletics is supposed to be. Now, this.
