I agree....BTWYour avatar is amazing. Sure the Pats are on the ropes but so was Ali vs Foreman. They still have Bill Belidick and a very good offense. We can't afford to get off to another slow start offensively. I thought, despite the stats, our D played pretty well in the 1st game. We killed ourselves with 3 and outs. You can't continue to leave your D on the field with an offense like that. I think we are the most consistent team in confusing Brady. Let's continue that and then capitalize on O! I'm super hyped. This is the 1st time in a while where I don't feel like we CAN win this game. I feel like we SHOULD win this game. Let's knock these dudes the fuck out. "CANT WAIT"
I'm just glad Keller's injury wasn't serious...he should have a big day. The offense still looked respectable in the last matchup and that was with a beatup Mangold in his first game back and Sanchez's internal clock was still fucked from the aftereffects of the Colin Baxter Era.
The defense and the offense both have to share some blame for that loss. The offense didn't take advantage of the worst defense in the NFL, and the defense couldn't make the big stop in the clutch. Neither side could come through with a big play.
Blame can be put on both but more so, in my opinion it was the stale offense of the Jets that lost them that game. The play calling was bad and the defense couldnt get any rest. The Jets had multiple chances on offense to take it to the Pats and they couldnt get anything going in the air. Didnt even take a shot at the Pats weak secondary but instead brought back the "ground and pound" that week. The whole offensive gameplan wasnt right. Especially Keller. This time I have a feeling it will be different. The Defense is clearly getting better and the offense has def. improved since the first meeting. I expect more Keller and I see Holmes along with Burress having big game this Sunday.
I agree, especially with the Jets offense not attacking the Pats secondary. But with the game on the line in crunch time, the defense has to force a 3 and out and get the ball back to the offense.
And yet... It's clear at this point that the Pats game was the beginning of the current turnaround trend. The Jets lost, but the game had in it the elements of a change of approach that has led to winning football.
They defense had been gased at that point because the offense couldn't sustain any meaningful drives, c'mon bro it's football 101
super pumped for this game. cant believe its still monday, havent thought about anything else since we stopped the bills on 4th down. this game could be the turning point in the present AFC east power struggle. with a promising win here we could really throw dome dirt over the patriots while they're stuck in this hole. smother welker, tackle BJGE, pressure Gaydy. And Win.
Speaking of Welker, I wonder how they approach defending the midget on Sunday. Do they put Revis on him the majority of the game again like last time? I thought they contained him pretty well, but i remember Welker having one big time play, I think that one was more on E Smith though. We also HAVE to contain Green Ellis, that last game was embarrassing how he torched our D. If they have no run game going, its tougher on Brady. Giants did a good job of containing Green Ellis yesterday
To be honest, the defense was on the field a ton that game. But yes, you're right, they needed to step up.
Well your defense has earned the respect. I don't think anyone has disrespected your defense. Its your anemic offense and inconsistent QB we do not respect. STOP MAKING STUPID PLAYS EVERY GAME and we will respect you Mr. Sanchez. I will say this man, the Jets team I saw play yesterday was like a finely tuned machine firing on all cylinders. Had Sanchez not made a couple stupid plays at the beginning of the game, the Jets would have won by 30. I know I have no room to talk with Brady playing like crap the last 2 weeks, but Brady gets a pass for a couple bad games, Sanchez hasn't earned that respect yet by me, or pretty much anyone else for that matter.
i'd like to see them employ some WR screens to holmes & kerley with plax out there blocking... the steelers were pretty effective with those plays against NE.
Brandon Spikes - LB - Patriots Patriots MLB Brandon Spikes has been diagnosed with a strained MCL, and is "week-to-week." Spikes was coming off a season-high 12 tackles against the Steelers before going down yesterday. His loss is a blow to the Patriots' ninth-ranked run defense, which will now be forced to start coverage-linebacker Gary Guyton in the middle. If you're a Spikes owner in an IDP league, however, Guyton is the player to add. Related: Gary Guyton Source: ESPN Boston Nov 7 - 4:22 PM i doubt he can play through that and even if he can its still a big negative for them
We need to have long time consuming drives like we did yesterday. Steelers kept Brady off the field and gave him no time to get into a rhythm.
This. Keep Brady off of the field with nice 7 or 8 minute drives that END IN TOUCHDOWNS! We can't leave points on the field like we did v. Buffalo yesterday.
We win this one going away. (at home) Patriots have hit the wall. We're going to beat the shit out of them, and I don't want to sit down at all the entire game. We better be louder than the 2009 week 2 game.
FYP. I LOVED the long drives yesterday, but we need to come away with points, preferably 7, but even 3.
Yea even a couple fgs is not the worst thing as long as its a long drive. Keep our D fresh and Brady is not putting up 20 points. On their secondary we are bound to put it in the endzone sooner or later. Hoping to see Holmes break away with a td this week.
