If the offense can give the defense breaks like they did today. The sky is the limit. This defense will roll on into the playoffs next week its the patriots head!
I don't know what everyone's problem is with Sanchez. He wasn't outstanding or mindblowing today, but he played good. 230 yds 1 TD 1 INT with a 71,4% completion percentage and a rating of 92.9. Throwing behind receivers you say, I only remember one ball thrown behind a receiver, the first failed 3rd down conversion, when he threw behind Santonio on a slant. Big deal, every quarterback makes mistakes. Mark Sanchez will never be Peyton Manning, some people just seem to have a hard time accepting that. And how where the picks gifts? They where both good plays from our linebackers. They were not some fluke once in a full moon plays. I'm gonna be honest when Sanchez fumbled the snap and lost it I got frustrated and was screaming at my computer, but like it is said, it doesn't matter how you start but rather how you finish. And we were dominating on all sides of the field, it didn't just show on the scoreboard. Why? It was a play run on garbage time which had no impact on the game what so ever. i don't know what you value in a quarterback and want from him, if making a hold on a gadget play in garbeage time infuriates you to "no end". I already adressed the "dumb mistakes" argument, but take a look at for example Eli Manning. He made the same mistake (throwing a lob from his back foot to avoid a sack) a couple of times today, which caused a turnover in the RZ, but he led the Giants to a win with a 5th 4th qtr comeback already this season. Every QB has their vices and virtues, all QBs make these "dumb mistakes". Nobody is perfect. Luckily it's only November and there is still a lot of football to be played this season and time to improve and get better. We didn't play perfect but we did play well and to say that the O sucked ass for most of the game is an absurd statement.
I think you need to start one of those "I'm still not happy" threads. Im sure you'll find some like minded folks to bitch and moan about how we couldn't win 62-0. Here though, you should re-energize you focus on those douchebag Bills fans who've been on our board talking stupid shit for the past two weeks. To them I say "haha. You lost. Bad. Ha ha."
Did you even watch the game? Geez...there's just no pleasing some people. Sanchez was 20 of 28 for 230 yards, 1 TD and 1 pick. They rushed for around 140 yards. Spread the ball around well. What limited them were the one pick and some questionable penalties.
I have always wondered why they called them Buffalo wings. I never made the connection with the city. Now I feel stupid.
The offense had trouble finishing today, but there are 80 yards of field leading into the red zone. Our offense executed well for most of the game. Red zone problems don't make them "craptastic".
FWIW (admittedly not much), nearly every "expert" I saw this week liked the Bills. Perhaps Pluvrr is simply upset that so many paid analysts were wrong.
No, yeah I hear ya. It feels really good to beat the Bills. And fuck the Bills fans, I'm more energized after the win. After finally winning a game on the road AND after a bye against a good division team we're now in the hunt for the division title. Believe me, I would not be bitching and moaning if we won 62-0. I'd be saying, "holy fuck, that was awesome." I'm a concerned fan because we struggle so much to score against good teams. Not talking about the hapless jags or dolphins, but teams like Baltimore, New England and the Bills. And I watch teams like the Houston Texans just dismantle opponents on both sides of the ball or the Saints or Packers throw TD's seemingly at will and I want that for the Jets. Can't I bitch a little until things are perfect? Isn't that what Rex does to the Defense when the Defense doesn't play a good game?
Are you joking? I'm a diehard Jets fan and I piss on any analyst who doesn't pick them. Rex has raised the bar for the Jets. I don't start a season anymore thinking "oh geez, maybe we can make the playoffs this year?" I start the season thinking, "Can't wait until we play in the Super Bowl this year!" What I do see a lot of on these forums are blind Jets fanbois who no matter what the team does they are always perfect and they can never do wrong. The biggest area the Jets need to improve is their offense. The players know it, the coach knows it, and I think if you guys watch the game again you know it too.
you picked an awful game to pick on the offense. Either you didn't watch the game or you're severely retarded.
If being retarded means I'm not a fanboi, then ok, whatever floats your boat. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fanboi
who's being a fanboi? Anybody that knows football and watched the game today, knows the Jets offense played great. Was it perfection? fuck no.....but the offense was in sync for the majority of the game. I'm one of Schotty's biggest critics....but i have to admit, he had the offense ready to play today.
lol seriously? You think our offense is fine when we could not score a TD until halfway through the 3rd Quarter against a team ranked #24th in the NFL against the pass? You're telling me you seriously think there's no problems with our offense?
Get this through your head. We're not the Saints or the Patriots or the Texans. this isn't a high octane offense. We're built to win games by running the ball and playing defense. This is how Rex wants to win football games. So if you're expecting to blow out teams by 300 pts every week....you're in for a rude awakening.
If being "in sync" means you can fumble, get intercepted, or get flagged for a penalty instead of sustaining a drive... then I agree with you! Take away the great defense we played today. Do you think we could have won with our offense?
