since it's the bye week [yeah I'm using that excuse] I couldn't help but to think about how we are 9-3 all time at JETLIFE STADIUM, 4-0 this season, and how we were just .500, or one game over .500 all time at GIANTS STADIUM. I always felt once we got out of GIANTS STADIUM that our home record would get better. and I want to thank all of you that go to METLIFE, I live in fl now so It's hard for me to go. but I hear all of you on t.v, and man are you guys loud and proud, I have seen plenty of false starts, delay of game, and time outs cause the opposing offenses couldn't hear the play. keep it up fellas! and continue too make METLIFE our true home!!!
Definitely a better atmosphere at New Meadowlands/MetLife Stadium but it also is partly to do with the Jets actually having a good team too. And our crowds have been good, but can still be better.
Crowd was great on Sunday Problem is all the empty seats are on the lower level The place is enormous. It makes Giants Stadium look cozy I think the sight lines are better for the lower two levels
It's expensive, gray, doesn't amplify crowd noise at all and a piece of crap compared to what the West Side Stadium would have been.
^^^^This^^^^ The most unispiring new building this side of the Broward arena (which is 10 times nicer but just a morgue with no atmosphere)
Anyone else agree it looks wierd when the Giants play? i mean the Giants logos and stuff look sooo out of place similar to how the Jets looked so out of place in Giants stadium. I was talking to a Cowboys fan and he said the same thing. The Giants logos just loom so out of place in the Jets stadium. Pretty the whole country has seen Metlife stadium with the Jets logos everywhere and not the Giants. Weve had the primetime games and a lot more coverage in general. Its definately the Jets stadium as of now.
I rarely get to go to a game (prices are just too rich for my blood these days) but I did get to go to the Jags game last month. I was in the upper tier on about the 30 yard line - section 330-something? Looking across the stadium early in the game I realized that the best seats in the house - basically the whole lower level from the 30 to the 30 - was less than half full. I figured people would show up as the game went on but it never happened - most of the seats remained empty for the entire game. With the prices being what they are those are obviously very expensive tickets but I can't imagine that that many tickets went unsold. My only guess was that a lot of those tickets are held by corporate bigwigs who either give them away to people as perks or don't really care enough to come out to the stadium and watch the game, much less make some fucking noise for the home team. I wish the Jets organization would institute some kind of policy to allow the real fans to move into better seats if they aren't filled by halftime - it's really a shame to see primetime seats right on the 50 yard line sit empty all game while diehard fans are screaming their lungs out from way up behind the endzone. Like I said, I can rarely get the chance to go to games at the stadium so I don't know if that's the norm or maybe there just wasn't that much interest from the fans because it was the Jags? I'm sure some of the STHs here could give more insight.
The only empty LL seats are in the club sections which are only empty because people are either in the clubs or hanging out behind the players benches.
It was because of the jags. I couldn't give away my tickets. Had a wedding that weekend so I couldn't go myself. I feel that overall the crowds have been better this year than last
Agreed, although living on 9th avenue I'm glad that the West Side Stadium didn't happen. There's no reason that they couldn't have built a loud, creative stadium in Jersey though.
I'd love it if the Jets could buy up one extra percent of the stadium and officially call it JetLife Stadium. The Giants had their own stadium for God knows how long, they can be in our position for once.
Yeah, it looked like all I guess "club level" seats were half filled. The seats in the lower bowl right at midfield.
hard to figure since roughly half the population of the sold out coaches club and great hall club seats you describe are either inside their club enjoying free food etc or standing behind the benches at the bottom of the section. the club level seats that are still unsold and the "great seats" you hear advertised are in the mezzanine club areas
I think the record has more to do with the team than the stadium. Personally I think the meadowlands was louder. To methere were games here and there, like the game in 02 against green bay to win the division, that showed that the jets could make that place home by simply winning. Metlife is newer but it's harder to get that place loud and the empty seats at the lower level at the 50 just taunt me. They really didn't think about giving their team a home field advantage when designing place.
Really? If you're ever struggling to find someone to give them away to, feel free to drop me a message.
giants stadium was definitely louder. nothing compares to the 2009 home opener against the pats, never heard a crowd so loud. Been to 3 games at the new stadium, it is so much quieter.. kinda depressing.
