Depends on how you look at it, Sanchez has far more upside than Fitzpatrick and he'll be the face of this franchise for at least another decade. Sanchez has earned his money in the postseason. Fitzpatrick has never and likely will never win a playoff game. The Bills should still be looking for a franchise quarterback because Fitzpatrick isn't it.

    Hardly.

I would argue the contrary. If Fitz is worth that much considering the schedule so far, Sanchez history of 4th quarter comebacks, Game Winning Drives, and Playoff wins, says he deserves Manning Money.

Beating KC, Cincy, and Oakland coming East playing at 1, makes NE the only quality win so far.

And FWIW that's a division game where ANYTHING can happen.

I dont get why our wins are downplayed. "ANYTHING can happen" We lost to the Pats 17 straight times before that. We beat KC (by over 35 points) before Berry and Charles got injured when they went undefeated at home last year. We beat the Raiders who are in the group of teams thats alightly above average. Also we beat the Eagles who are the paper superbowl champs. Hung well and had leads in the Bengals and Giants game and lost by 3 points each.

Don't complain about downplayed wins. All of our wins are downplayed. We only beat the Cowboys because Romo gave us the game and we only beat San Diego because Rivers gave us the game. Then we beat up on a poor Jacksonville team and a poor Miami team. We have no reason to get any credit whatsoever.

Saying that Sanchez deserves Manning money is the most ridiculous thing I have heard on this site since someone said we should let Revis go, last offseason, because we have Kyle Wilson.

that's not a ton of money for a QB. and fitzpatrick's play is not a fluke, because it's been good since the middle of last season.

i mean, his performance in the first couple of games this year was a bit of an anomaly but he's definitely a good option at quarterback.

david garrards of the league were making 9-10 million.

they won't sign Fred Jackson to a giant deal, but he's going to get paid pretty well for the next 1-2 years. i can almost guaranteed that. he hasn't shown signs of slowing down yet (he's gotten better) and has never had a serious injury in his career, so there's no reaosn to believe he can't play like this for another 2 years.

maybe 3 years @ frank gore type money even

Sorry to say this but if the Bills had the same overall team that Mark has had the Bills would be pretty damn good.....

Mark has been given nothing but playmakers around him, to include a top 5 defense for the last few years

I'm not. Wins are wins. I'm trying to put an accurate lens on the questionable nature of issuing a contract like that halfway through the season.

yeah it definitely read that you were completely downplaying anything and everything they did.

and then as another poster pointed out you said that sanchez should get manning money.

its one thing to support your team and favorite players but what you did in that post was worthy of the cess pool.

it's great for Fitzharvard that after 7 years as a JAG scrub, he has been able to land 24 million guaranteed before reality sets in beginning in just over a week and he returns back to the JAG scrub he IS and always has been

The big question for the Bills is whether they will be able to finally draft a real NFL quarterback in April?

Context is key. When you get to the 5th grade you'll learn that.

I did not say that Sanchez deserves Manning money, tool.

    I said,

The point, simply (in deference to your keen intellect) is that the contract is wildly OVERPAID on the body of work.

(hence the 'If Fitz is worth' part...)

(you could also look up metaphor, and moreso hyperbole, you too alleycat)

What are you basing this off of, His past?? He has been legit since he became a starter mid last season. The only real knock i have on him is he can't throw an accurate deep ball. But then again we don't have a deep threat receiver anymore and Gaileys system is westcoast like revolving around the quick short routes. I have come to accept that for this year

We won't be in position to draft a "real" QB in April. I rather we get our franchise guy when we are one of the top 3 worst teams again. None of this trying to hit a homerun blindfolded with a limp arm trying to find that guy in the 3rd round or later.

But anyway good for Fitzpatrick getting that 24 million, look like he doesn't need that Hartford education anyway

There's still plenty of games for the Bills to lose. Don't worry.

In all seriousness, you never know when a "real" QB is going to be available.

See Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers.

Robert Griffin, III could be available when you're on the clock.

So you are saying the Jets would be better with Fitzpatrick at QB instead of Sanchez?

Not at all what I am saying is that the Bills have a lot less talent on that team then Sanchez and the Jets. Granted I am biased towards the Jets but they are a loaded team in many key positions and for people to act like Fitz is shit are crazy.....Not saying he is great but he does more with less every week

    very true.

If the jets had had a QB in the top 5-10 range then you have to think they would have won a SB over the last couple of years.

I still believe that Sanchez can develop into a good starting calibre QB I just hope that by the time he does it all the other elements of the team are still in place.
