I have a question that might be considered dumb, but I'm just gonna go ahead and throw it out there: Why do some Coordinators operate from the booth and some from the sidelines? Does it involve personal preference/comfort/etc, or does it involve vision, communication, and things of that ilk?
Schotty has shown the ability to call great games before, he's just inconsistent. I haven't been a Schotty supporter this year, but he deserves credit when the offense does well.
Some like the pure unemotional chess match from upstairs, where they're view from the game gives them the best angle on the defense. Others like to communicate directly with the players and get a feel for the players the feel for the momentum and flow of the game.
Why? Because the players executed? WRs caught the passes? the OL opened holes for the RBs? Sanchez only threw into double coverage a few times?
This thread is ridiculous. The JETS managed to get their running game on track for the second half and that made all the difference, Sanchez needs the running game to set up the pass and he is very good at play action. In addition, the presence of a vialbe running game makes things less predictable for the opposing defense. The JETS suddenly became less one dimensional. Nothing special here. Everybody accuses the OC but could it not be a matter of execution? When the JETS execute the plan successfully, they are successful. Tom Moore my A$$. BTW, I am not a Schotty partisan at all but......????
They were running the typical Schotty plays. The only difference was that they were actually executing this time around.
