Would be good to get the more trustworthy mannish to have the same take. This seemed likely to me before this story hit though.

Yeah, I'd like to hear what Manish thinks as well.

Cimini is probably right though. Moore probably had some minor influence, but nothing more.

I don't believe it. It was Moore that called the plays, I can tell from Schotty's demeanor. He was upset at the quasi demotion.

Schotty is awarded no credit and may have God have mercy on his soul.

if Moore was calling plays I say we promote him to co-OC... I doubt his old ass is willing to travel around every week though..

Still too many calls outside the numbers, but a better game overall

yeah you can definitely tell there was some sparatic Schotty calls in that game.. like the shovel pass on 3rd down and long which actually almost worked. and we cant forget the draw plays in long yardage situations.

Didn't DVR it so that won't happen.

Not sure why you felt that was neccesary to say anyway.

    Yeah..I'll wait for Manish.

If you follow jets beat writers on twitter, it's always Manish who breaks a Jets story first. Than you see the other clowns basically copy, and paste what he wrote.

I'm sure Moore gave suggested stuff to Schotty though.

I'll still believe it was a much closer joint effort than stated.

Moore probably threw in his 2 cents but Schotty made the final call I'm guessing. I think the offensive calls in the game were overall pretty good. Still some bullshit that I didn't like on long-developing crossing routes and play-action throws on 3rd and 10 but it's better than we've seen.

    Consultants do that...

Gameplans and playcalling look good when WRs catch the ball, RBs have holes to run through for 100+ yards and QBs limit their mistakes

Plax gave a big thank you to Sanchez and Shotty after the game for not giving up on him!

Gotta wonder what Sanchez is dealing with with diva receivers like Holmes. It looked like Mark was consoling a dejected Santonio on the way to the sidelines after he threw the 2nd TD to Burress yesterday.

Holmes did break open on the play, but after Sanchez had started his throw towards Plax.

Cimini's opinion and "unnamed player quotes" are what sucks, I trust his actual reporting though.

    This seemed likely anyway.

Moore may not have had a hand in calling the plays but whatever was happening this was not the same maddening playcalling we've been seeing from Schotty lately.

It's heartening to see that when Rex finally took the initiative to get involved with the offensive side of things - whether he actually had any input in the gameplan or just lit a fire under certain peoples asses - things changed immediately.

I doubt Holmes cares too much as long as they win. He is a competitor. On the other hand if they weren't getting him the ball and they were losing, I imagine he would be a little pissed.

the article doesnt cite anything, so i dont know how much of it to believe. personally, i think moores roll was more or less taking a look at schottys playbook and his calling tendencies and suggest certain plays for different situations and things of that nature. schotty was definitely calling the game. tom moore wasnt on the sideline, but rex was also very involved in the offense during the game. i dont hate brian schottenheimer or anything like that, but i dont think he is a good coordinator, and i definitely hate that he has a job still. if he can call the rest of the season like he did, maybe he will be able to get a job somewhere else, coaching some offensive unit, but i doubt that any higher ups for the jets are confident in the jets abilities continuing on with schotty. not with all the problems they have been having, and hiring consultants and things like that. hopefully they will be able to find their stride defensively so the games become easier for schotty but hes had enough time to prove that he isnt worth it anymore.

I would imagine this is one of the games that NFL network will feature. Holmes does not look thrilled by the TD. Twenty feet awy from the play he stops running looks at Plax who is looking towards the sky, and starts walking toward the sideline.

Sanchez comes up behind and puts a hand on his shoulder. You may be correct. It may mean nothing, but it looked odd.

    Something changed.

That wasn't a pure schotty game, I can tell you that for sure.
