Yeah but according to Tank, Revis is the only person in the world who thinks it wasn't P.I.

Would love to see someone tell Francesa that Pereira says it's a non-call because he takes everything Pereira says as gospel.

Yeah, I agree. The moderator who altered the thread title should have written "Revis fights with Fatty on 10/21/2011." Neither guy "owned" the other, but if I had to side with one, I'd actually have to say that Francesser won.

Francesser was himself- an arrogant toolbag. He goaded Revis into getting upset. Also, Francesser was wrong about the play in question. However, Francesser is not the one who made the unprofessional decision to end the phone call and that is why if anyone won this battle it was Francesser.

Revis was right to not admit that he got away with one. He did not interfere with Marshall on the play in question.

Revis erred when he said that Francesser never played the game and therefore did not know football. Instead of going there, Revis should have told Francesser to watch the play again and consult the NFL rule book. The two of them should have then been able to move on to another subject.

While it was sort of funny to hear Revis rip Francesser, the former did lose his cool. Revis had to know that Francesser was going to ask at least one antagonistic question and/or make a negative remark about something Jets-related.

Revis should have been prepared to make a couple snappy responses besides the tired "you never played the game" garbage. Heck, there are many, many players who have no idea what is going on at other positions. I bet at least a third of the players in Monday's game don't know if Revis's actions should or should not have drawn a flag on that play. A large number of players do not bother to learn other positions because they do not have to do so.

Mark Bavaro, while being interviewed by Francesser a couple years ago, stated that he did not want to get into coaching because he didn't know what all the players had to do. When he played he only knew what the tight ends were taught. Bavaro is an intelligent guy too. There are many smart football players who are only truly knowledgable about the position they played.

Curtis Martin will be a Hall of Famer but didn't really love football. For the most part he only focused on his assignments and this is mainly why he won't get into coaching. Knowshon Moreno is the same way. He only watches film when forced to by Denver coaches. Aside from his RB duties he probably has the football acumen of a 12-year old, 4th-year Madden veteran.

If you're addicted to sports talk and you’re a Jets fan you have to put up with Francesca because the alternative is Michael Kay.

    I suggest rehab.

I changed the title before I even saw it.

If another mod feels the need to be more accurate they are free to change it to something else.

How anyone can say Mike is right or professional is clearly delusional...

A-Who the hell starts throwing their money into an argument?

Francesca says he will donate money to Revis fav charity?? He doesn't know that Revis is well off, really well off.

B- who the hell refers a opinion of another broadcaster regarding a penalty?

Francesca says gruden agrees with him. Now Pereira agrees with Revis, how does Francisca and Gruden sound?

C- Why the hell are ppl hating on the PR REP when he diffused the situation?

If Revis curses on live air, imagine the ammo fatso would have. Ex: Tannys kids couldve been listening to his show and now curse as much as Rex.

D- Incidental contact is not a penalty! Player slipping onto another player is incidental contact. Player looking to his left and the pass is thrown to the right is poor communication on the offense!

E- Just bcuz someone compliments you doesn't mean they are not wrong!

Ppl keep mentioning Francesca complimented REVIS, so? He had plenty of chances to move on from the question. Revis even mentioned a few times you ask questions well, and he only plays well. Basically to move on, Francesca got stuck trying to say he plays football well and interviews well.

Their are so many things wrong and we have ppl trying to change the story. Ex: Mike was joking... How the hell was that a joke?

And talk abt f'in nit picking, we won, defense played good, Revis wins def player of the week and all you have to say is you got away with one?

    Gtfoh!

That is because no Jets win is a clean win in Francesser's mind. He always has to nitpick something.

Did Francesser say that Miami would have won if the refs threw a flag on that play? I figure he may have said such a thing this week. A Dolphins fan said to me this week that the Jets got lucky on that play and that was the only reason they won. Seems that would have been something Francesser would say too.

Cakes, I largely agree with this, but for me the trump card is that Revis and the Jet PR guy hung up on Fatty. How many times a day does Fatty hang up on perfectly reasonable callers? Fuck him. I'm glad he got a taste of his own medicine. It was great to see him sputter and sweat in the aftermath of the call.
