If I'm not mistaken, Suggs dad was Shafer Suggs who was a DB for the Jets in the late 70s. Wasn't that good, a hard hitter but got beat a lot.
I understand all the criticism of Sanchez and where it comes from except 1 thing. How do people call him soft. The guy takes huge hits and bounces back up right away. In the Baltimore game he was getting destroyed but he stayed in there and took more hits. Of course when you have 0 time to throw and you are repeatedly getting hit you wont be making plays but I wouldnt call him soft because of it.
This has been brought up and people keep missing it. Someone mentioned the hit he took at Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship Game, I thought he was done too and he not only came back but played better. You can't underestimate toughness. As much as I loved having Chad Pennington on the field, too many times he left us with the likes of Brooks Bollinger or Kellen Clemens for the balance of a season because he couldn't hold up.
Yeah, really. I'll take Sanchez sticking it out through hits and throwing some incompletions over never knowing if Pennington was going to make it through four quarters any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Also, the Suggs talk is foolish because it seems he didn't examine the logic of what he said before he said it. As someone said, if our defense has one great player, and a QB with less to offer than your QB, how have we made it farther than you for two straight years? That's either fellating Rex or being a moron. From the looks of him, I'll go with moron.
I had tickets for the January 2010 game, had they beaten the Colts. Might still have them somewhere, last-minute rush-job printing by the Jets.
The difference was that was right after a game, Suggs did this 2 weeks after the Jets game without even being asked about Sanchez.
Yes he was asked about Sanchez! The first question for the panel was "Could Flacco lead a team to the SB?, then the 2nd one was "Could Sanchez lead a team to the SB?. Sanchez name didn't even come up until then.
I was mistaken, I was going by someone else's recounting of events. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=2293573&postcount=7
I didn't hear Suggs name mentioned much during the game. Dabrick shut him out. They moved him to the other side a few times.
No problem. He did go way overboard with the criticism, and was definitely trying to get a reaction. They give the impression that they tell the panel ahead of time what they are gonna talk about, because he started up on something else, and they said that segment is coming later...
Tell that wise ass Suggs he was lucky that Mangold was hurt that game, because if he was in their, Suggs would've been on his ass at the line of scrimage.
I could have sworn it was Mark Sanchez playing in the AFC Championship game the last 2 years.....you guys telling me it was Flacco and Suggs ? Wow...better get my eyes checked.
I really cant stand the Ravens, if they are gunna talk like this, they better back it up. They cant seem to beat any big team in a big game. They got stomped by the Steelers after the Steelers handed them the game. The Colts to played like shit, yet the Ravens played even worse. Their biggest win was against the Titans team that the Jets took apart to.
I'd say they've backed it up. They've beaten the Jets (and beaten up Sanchez) the last two times they played them.
