That's all nice and all, but you're not winning shit without a quarterback. Good QB's aren't easy to come by, and Mark has already proven himself in the playoffs, and has proven he can at least win games, albeit not in a flashy way. You don't trade an already very good playoff QB who is 24 years old for two unproven rookies.
Mark is league average at best right now. I love how he does in the playoffs, but that can't be the most important judgment for a QB.
But we did need to bring schotty up in his thread somehow. I swear there is a competition to see who can bring him up in the most threads.
Very good points here. The thing is the Jets have HAD multiple 1sts on top of a decent talent base in the past and they've found really good players in at least one case in that situation and it just didn't matter because they didn't have a franchise QB to tie everything together. There's almost no way the Jets get lucky enough to get talent like John Abraham and Shaun Ellis out of the picks they get for Sanchez if they make this deal, but even those two guys never won more than 10 games as teammates on the Jets and they were drafted with the QB that won 10 games with them ONCE in five seasons. When you actually have a QB that you can consistently win games with in the playoffs? That's as good as it gets. I wouldn't trade Sanchez even up for Jay Cutler or Matt Schaub or Tony Romo or any of a half dozen other QB's that look good in the regular season but are unproven in the playoffs. At least with Sanchez I know he can guide the team to a win when it really matters, when the defense is up to the task of stopping a determined opponent which they have not been in the end the last two seasons.
It's crazy how the legend of MS is bigger than any of his contributions to either playoff run. I mean the jets could have just signed John Kitna and have gotten the 160 yard and 1.25 TDs in the four playoff wins in the last two years. Because the domination from the D and run would have not carried the team some how with out number 6??? Yeah right. LOL, this guy is so replaceable it isn't even funny.
New OC, New QB? Maybe! Some stability at the skills position on offense would be nice. Those factors. Yes.

Good post. Too many fans get caught up in stats, even the ones who claim they don't. As much as he gets bashed in the media and by fans, as much as he frustrates you to watch, there are plenty of NFL teams who would be glad to have Sanchez as their quarterback over the one they have now. ...and if you can't see that, you must be a fan of having "training camp QB battles" every year.
I agree. He (Bradford) broke Manning's rookie record for pass completions last year and he had NO ONE to throw to. Will be interesting to see his development now that the Rams have a top-flight receiver in Brandon Lloyd. With that said, I'm not sure he'll ever win four road playoff games..Gotta give Sanchez props for that...
Are you kidding? I would take Bradford for Sanchez in a heartbeat. Let go of the hot fanboy love you have for this guy and see realize that he's simply not that good.
I'm still not sold on Sanchez, but I've also never seen anything from Bradford to suggest that he's a better player. He leads one of the few offenses that's more futile than ours, he melted down in the play-in game last year, and he's one of the most injury prone QBs in football.
