That Revis TD was a defensive holding, contrary to what Gruden was crying about with it being a pass int.

But Marshall on his 2nd catch got away with a blatant Offensive Pass Int. where he extended his arm and shoved Revis out for separation. That's a text book Offensive Pass Int which Gruden failed to mention.

and as soxxx said, Gruden was just saying this to keep his options open in Miami in case they somehow get the 1st pick. Would probably need to be wowed with money to put the ESPN deal down he just signed and all but the way he was waving the Dolphin pom-poms, you have to write the man up as a job candidate.

Tirico is hit or miss to me. He can get a bit snarky and come off as knowing TOO much(Which is sometimes a good thing....it shows he reads up on alot of things and does his research but can come off as being a bit too much at times). I think he's one of the better play by play guys. He's no Al Michaels(Who's slipped a bit lately albeit) but he blows FOX and CBS's No.1 guys(Cowboy homer Joe Buck and Tom Brady groupie Jim Nantz) away.

I like Jaws the most of the 3 team though. Gruden is good when he doesn't gush over every single living creature that is on the field but that's almost never.

What I like about Tirico is he is a Jets fan and you would never know he liked the Jets.

As for Gruden, I thought he was wrong but then I heard Steve Young in the postgame say the same thing. I think it comes from the fact that the game has become so in favor of offensive players that anytime there is contact they expect a penalty. I didn't hear them say anything about the play in the 4th when Sanchez threw the ball to Plax in the endzone and Bell hooked Plax's left arm making him unable to get it up just so he could drop the ball again.

Actually it was reported today he just signed another deal, this time for five years, with ESPN.

I can't remember if you've ever been wrong before.

the thing is that throughout the game, he kept bringing it up. And then you had his sidekick always agreeing with him. "Yup, yup ."

Like I said years ago, the MNF crew is terrible followed by the TNF crew.

Gruden is tremendous. The knowledge he spews out all game long is terrific. Not being sarcastic.

His one on one segment with QBs is also fantastic.

Hes very entertaining and VERY knowledgeable. I htink hes the best MNF announcer in a long, long time

I agree. He gets a bit hyped up about a somewhat close call (although I personally felt Marshall was falling into Revis on his own, initiating contact and the ball was thrown behind Marshall). But he also knows the refs have been calling it tight on pass coverage this season, so I would not have been surprised of they had called holding (not PI). But the non-call was the right call.

But Gruden is entitled to make a mistake. He's so much better than anyone they've had there for awhile. This is the kind of game a three man team is better for. Jaws i like for his breakdown analysis and overall knowledge of the game, but between him and Tirico I can't see them covering the game by themselves.

Gruden also seems very well informed about what is going on with the opponents, and his little pre-game skit with a Qb is very well done.

Some people here can be so homeristic.

    I'll defend Gruden all day.

He goes on and on about Manning too. Its called being good, and an analyst appreciating it.

How the F*** do you insist that Marshall Trying to Run THRU Revis is Pass Interference.

Explain his insistence (tht he would not let go of) That Revis was guilty of Pass Int. on the Pick6.

I went f*ng ballistic with that PI crap. I chalked it off to him being an offensive coach, but Marshall was playing that game all night long, using his size to run Revis off, which should get called on the off. player, especially down the field, or at the EZ.

If Keller was running that same route on Davis, that would have been OPI.

But, I agree with your other comments.

Last night Jon Gruden reminded me of Tom Cruise. Like Oprah Winfrey Tom Cruise. He looked unbalanced.

And there's just something AWKWARD about that broadcasting team, especially when they announced Gruden's contract extension.

Someday when Rex has retired from coaching, we'll have a good Monday night broadcast team again.

Well, not to keep at this one, but fwiw I think there's also that a lot more of what are close calls go to the offense this year.

Agreed with your first paragraph. Sometimes Tirico goes too in depth for his own good and while it shows he does his research, it makes him sound like a know it all. Case in point, when he talked about Henne last night he said "Henne done for the year, last year of his rookie contract, he won't be back in a Dolphins uniform again' like its not even a remote possibility Henne would play for the Fins again. He's probably right, but the way he expressed his opinion in a uniform sense bothered me.

He's really a Jets fan? Wow, would never have guessed it. I remember when we got crushed on MNF last year against the Pats, he said something like 'same old Jets' which I thought was such an a-hole thing to say. Guess if he's really a Jets fan, I can understand him saying that haha

I hate his voice and his mannerisms. He can know everything in the world about the sport. I just never want to hear him talk about it. Ever.

Also read he tried to fingerbang a chick while she was trying to drive away. Never a good idea.
