As if having Baxter as our only open guy wasn't bad enough!

I second that--the first name that popped into my head.

If it wasn't for him, we would have never been treated to that awesome display in NO of Kyle Turley ripping his helmet off and going apeshit, throwing it down the field. That was an all-time great moment in Jets history!

I hated that signing from day one. I wish we still had the database entries from that time. I was really bent at that one. Hatchette, too. I really hated that signing.

Steve White was signed as a stop-gap. He was never supposed to be a breakout player or anything. Same with Fat Chester. All they needed was 300 lbs of breathing blubber to take up space and a minimal paycheck.

I could be wrong, but wasn't White signed to a 4-year deal? Stop-gap?

Since when did the length of a contract matter? I'll tell you what. We'll call it a depth signing. He was never meant to be more then short-term depth.

Here's a few that Rich Kotex signed in 1995: Erik Howard, Charles Wilson, and the aforementioned Dexter Carter. And in 1996, the aforementioned Neil O'Dummy (horrible...I think it was for $5 million a year).

The second signing of Vinny Testaverde in 2005 takes the cake for me as far as the Hermway regime goes...

    Most of Bradway's signings:

Hatchette, White, Beasley, Conway, Martin, Legree, Garnes, Nutten.

    Yuck.

To me it can't be that bad unless we invested alot of money in that player or if they killed us on the field so that removes Dexter carter, Monsanto Pope, Eric Green, Matthew hatchette, Chester mcGlockton, Erik Howard, Charles Wilson. None of the players were good but they didn't kill us like a Rick Mirer did.

no we didn't, he was w/ us in '03 when we went 6-10.

I'll go with Art Monk. Clearly at the end of his career but was signed anyways.
    Didnt do much for us.
