One thing that is being lost in this poor start is how the Jets' schedule is ridiculously difficult this season. It is clear when you look at the schedule that the NFL does not like the Jets. It seems as if Kraft put together the Jets schedule. Who plays three road games in a row? Add in one being a west coast trip the third of three being against the Pats. No team should play three road games in a row. If they do, they should be short trips. And the last game should not have been against the Pats. Now the Jets play Miami coming off a bye. Then the Jets play SD coming off a bye. So after a three game road trip, the Jets get two home games against teams with 2 weeks to prepare for the them. Then there is that absurd trip to Denver later in the season to play on Thursday night after playing a Sunday night game against the.......Pats. This schedule this year is total BS.
What a dumb post. Its not the schedule silly, its the officials that are making us lose. Dont you know anything?
We just got through the toughest part of our sched, we lost all 3 games but the sched gets a little smoother going forward.
I dont see how it gets any easier with after the Dolphins game which is never an easy game. They have the Chargers, @ Buffalo and then Patriots. This could be another brutal stretch.
I agree that the schedule is not an excuse but it does seem incredibly hard. Can someone explain why the Jets got three straight road games while the Giants were also on the road for two of those weeks. Was something going on at Met Life stadium?
SD isn't that good and they are coming east for a 1PM game, we should win that. i'm not sold on Buffalo yet though they have been tough at home. NE at home we should win. I think at worst we will be 7-4 after 11 w/ a great shot the last month.
If it makes you feel better to blame it on something other than a team that flat out isn't on par with the team of the last two years then sure, strike up a conspiracy that the NFL is out to get the Jets. What a joke.
What's obvious is the 3 teams we just lost to aren't great teams and have the same issues we did with the lockout. What's more obvious is we aren't that good right now. Lots of things to get fixed if they can be fixed. The team will either get it done or it won't. Blaming the schedule or the refs for what's obvious is simply sticking your head in the sand. We have to get alot better very fast or the season is going down the drain and it's not the schedule.
we are better than the Giants and we'll be a little hungrier in the coming weeks. The Giants have eeked by bad teams and were 3-1, we'll be 3-3 likely going into the SD game, we can't have a throwaway game at home like the Giants had yesterday.
You must have forgotten BP adage which is "you have to play the teams on your schedule" FYG the Pats have the EXACT same schedule except for the 2 wild card teams they play Pitt & Indy & we play (ed) Jax & Balt. That means 14 of the 16 teams we play are exactly the same for us the Phins & the Pats. I think the Bills schedule is different cause they finished in last place in the division last year. You must have also forgotten this adage "to be the best you have to beat the best" which means if you want to be the best well U can figure out the rest hopefully :jets:
I hope so. SD could still be smarting from 2009 play-off loss I don't like playing them coning off their bye
The Pats and Ravens are playoff teams, the Raiders are playing decent football. It was a tough schedule to start with. Basically, all of our games were against good teams except Jacksonville. When you look at the teams the Jets lost to, we shouldn't feel too bad. The ravens are in first place, the Raiders are one game out in the west, the pats are in second place due to the bills holding a tiebreaker. Basically, the Jets lost to some good teams. We will get a break against the Dolphins, who are in disarray this season. It will be a good measuring stick of how we do against a team we should beat. After that it won't get any easier with San Diego. Then we have the Bye. After the bye we'll have the bulk of our division games which really matter.
Roughest part of the schedule is over. Dallas is a VERY talented team, as is NE and Balt. I don't know how good Buffalo will be later, but we can win.
Must win games IMO: Giants Redskins Dolphins both times, Chiefs Broncos Thats 6 wins right their, which would put us at 8 wins, we are fully capable of winning all those games. The real test will be the Chargers, Patriot, Bills, Eagles. I think we can beat the Chargers, the chargers have barely beaten all their opponents none of which who have a winning record. Split the series with the Bills. And hopefully get payback on the Pats. And who knows with those Eagles that games a ways away. If we can go 3-2 over those 5 "tougher" games we will finish 11-5. I think these 2 next home games we must win to save our season.
Jets will rebound, this is reminding me of the '98 season as far as the wins and losses go and how they started out. Jets will bounce back, they have no choice now. they're all must wins.
stop being so insecure. if that was really an issue no team would ever lose to a team that defeated them in the playoffs ever, they'd still be smarting about it and extra extra motivated. little good it did the Chargers against the Patriots. or were they no longer smarting about the Marty's final playoff loss?
