I wish Vollmer was back. He really is a potential all-pro in the making. But fortunately for us, the rookie Solder is doing a great job (and may be just as good in the future) Kudos to Al Davis (RIP) for that trade. Hernandez is not expected and Haynesworth is a gravy choice. Mayo hurts of course but we knew his situation. Same for Woodhead. My concerns are the secondary who are all nicked up.
The problem with that is if the pats win the toss they'll defer. Always do. Rather have the ball first in the 3rd quarter. On another thread it says Rex likes to defer, so if the Jets win the toss....
Maybe the ringing-up 70 pts is a bit of an exaggeration, but I don't think envisioning Jets loss by the score of 38-10 is too much far off from the realm of reality.
If the Jets can sack & pressure Brady he'll throw picks and that's how we win this game, otherwise the Jets get killed.

The Patriots lost 10 defensive starters to trade, free agency and retirement since 2007. That is what happened. As far as the atrociousness of the defensive play, yes it is bad, especially pass coverage. But there are 12 teams in the NFL that give up as many or more points than the Patriots do. Yards don't go on the scoreboard, points do.
Belicheat is overrated. If one of the best QBs in the history of the game didn't fall onto his lap, I don't know that he would have even won 1 SB in NE.

You don't seem to understand the crux of the problem. No matter how bad the defense is, Jets Offense is not particularly good at capitalizing on it. Other teams seem to have no problem either running or passing on other bad defenses, but when it comes to Jets offense confronting them, these bad defenses all of a sudden turn into '85 Bears defense. Do not let the scores or the results fool you. Even in win against the Cowboys, Jets offense scored but 17 points (Defense and the special team accounted for the other 10). When they go up against even adequate defenses, they always have hard time scoring +20 points. That's what the results say, not my prejudices. So I don't mind you (or other Jet fans) staying on the green Kool-aid regimen, but know that this offense will struggle against Patriots defense, no matter how bad the defense actually happens to be.
