Edelman is out too. Disaster because now Welker won't be able to blend into the usual swarm of white midgets. He'll have to hide in Gronk's helmet or something.
Yes, but how do you account for it? Subtract it from the Jets offense scoring? It goes on the scoreboard so it is part of who wins the game. The real point here is the Pats D while really terrible in terms of passing yards allowed is better in some other areas leading to a ranking in defensive points allowed at 21st. That is considerably better than the dead last in YPG allowed. What goes on the scoreboard? YPG or points? Inquiring minds want to know. Teams don't totally abandon the run; they mix in draws etc. to keep a pass rush honest. When a team is playing a defensive package in garbage time to milk the clock they don't particularly care about running plays, and this inflates the YPC. It's a team game with tradeoffs in BOTH directions. Yes, stopping the run is the main thing when playing NE. I'm sure the Jets will be using the same scheme they prepared for the Ravens and Raiders in this game. Good luck with that. The Jets are +0 for the year, NE is +4. I love this analysis. There is only ONE stat out of four where the Jets have an actual advantage yet you come up with the result that the Jets will win. Awesome.
It should be a good game and is a game important to both teams . . . hopefully the pats will be able to pull it out . . . we'll see . . . will be interesting to see how well the Pats passing attack does against the tough Jets defense . . . and if the Pats D can hold up on their side of the ball . . . btw, this is my first post . . . hi all . .
I've heard Revis is going to be covering Welker this game. Cromartie has been saying he hopes Brady throws in his direction. I wonder who Cro is going to be put on.
"Push"???? Brady is on pace to score 7000+ yards or something. The Jets are #2 in pass D because they played the virtually quarterback-less Jags that couldn't pass and then couldn't stop Oakland from running up and down the field on them so the Rayduhs didn't have to pass. Oops. Oh, really? RunDMC didn't run for 101 additional yards against the Jests??? This might be an advantage if the Jets actually had a good QB, a running game, and an offense that could score Red Zone TDs. They don't.
Pats Run D YPC 4.8: 23rd Jets Run O YPC 3.1: 30th Push
Push??? A YPC of 3.1 is putrid, sweetpea, even for a team that doesn't espouse "ground and pound". Putrid.
Jets will get embarassed, my friends. Mark my words. With Schottenheimer calling the shot, if Jets do not play with lead (I just don't know how that will happen but...) they will be beaten and they will be beaten hard.
Yehoodi.....youll find that this message board is made of 20 - 50 year old who earn about 20k/year ..and whos sole enjoyment is bashing posters regardless of content in an attempt at cleverness,,,everyone thinks they are smart. youll grow to love it like me.
While I don't think its a good idea to guarantee a win, and I certainly wouldn't blame anyone for pessimistically expecting to lose, guaranteeing an embarrassment is taking it too far.
Ain't my stats. Just my emos. And, yeah, I do know a little bit about football. I also am NOT blinded by Jets homerism as I'm a Bills fan.
I know is he serious. I graduate after this semester and on top of school I make more money then that. Maybe he should expand his lemonade stand franchise.
The Gronkenstein of course... I hope Hernandez does play and it's just not a smoke screen by Belichick. I'll bet Haynesworth doesn't play.
