The picture clearly shows the crown of his helmet in Sanchez' back. But lets assume he used his facemask, as you say. The facemask is, unfortunately for your argument, part of the helmet. Therefore, he led with his helmet. Pathetic try for you, indeed.
we agree you clown, but when you see it getting called in other games, and this is a game changing play..it's kind of frustrating.
I think it's an dangerous, potentially crippling illegal hit, and should draw a stiff fine. If I was the commissioner I'd issue a suspension. 1. Use of Helmet and Facemask. An opponent must not use his facemask or other part of his helmet against a player who is in a virtually defenseless posture-for example, (a) by forcibly hitting the defenseless player's head, neck, or face with the helmet or facemask, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him, or (b) by lowering the head and violently or unnecessarily making forcible contact with the "hairline" or forehead part of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player's body. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCa0eYB12Jo Notice Ngata lowering his head prior to impact in the last replay sequence. If he kept his head up this would have been a clean hit.
Brady doesn't draw NEARLY the amount of calls everyone thinks he does. He was slapped in the head HARD in Oakland and there was no call. There WAS 1 call against Seymour for roughing the passer, but that was because the play was whistled dead. Seymour says he didn't hear the whistle and absolutely NAILED Brady. Hard to believe he didn't notice nobody else was playing I think Seymour had 2 personal fouls and a false start on the Pats 1st drive
There is also the aspect that everytime brady gets breathed on he demands a flag. It pisses us all off watching him beg like a little bitch. He's good enough that he shouldnt need free flags to move his team down the field I would think we shall get a head to head look this weekend. I bet brady gets the call and sanchez doesnt.
NAILED Brady, your joking right. First off Brady should have spiked the ball since Seymour couldn't hear the whistle, then Seymour pushed Brady to the ground - hardly NAILED him. If Brady got hit like Sanchez has gotten hit the past two weeks , the NFL rule book would have been changed already and a congressional hearing set. And for those saying Brady doesn't draw many roughing calls - yes its the truuth for two reasons - He gets good protection and releases the ball quickly, and the second reason is that anytime a defender comes near him he goes down into a fetal tuck.
Anyone remember Digs getting flagged and we all said WTF. And then it was about leading with the crown of the helmet? Same thing on the Ngata play.
I agree that Brady wasn't 'nailed'. However he wasn't exactly 'pushed down' either. Seymour grabbed Brady, spun him around a couple of times and threw him down. Seymour was way out of line on an expired play clock. The 'didn't hear the whistle' stuff is crap too. You can see the other Oakland lineman who was right next to Seymour pull up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WX8eG5wtVU
You beat me to it. And agreed re: the flag. Though I doubt we'll be getting many favorable flags this week in NE.
They screwed up in that Charger game when the DL dove at his legs and hit him square in the knee. I was waiting for him to not get up because it looked much worse then it was. That was a case where a flag definitely was constituted. I mean shit they put that rule in because of the Pollard play. What saved Brady was that it wasn't his plant leg and he had a brace on his knee otherwise they very well may have been a season ender. I don't watch enough Pats game to really say if Brady doesn't get the calls but it seems like when we play you the Pats usually the WRs are the benefices of some questionable unnecessary roughness calls. I think the officiating in the NFL has been atrocious this year. As far as defensive players go it certainly appears that the refs have it out for Suh. That guy touches a QB and the flag comes out. It's a shame because most of his hits are clean.
