The Patriots put Gronkowski in for a play at QB once. The referees immediately threw a flag for Unsportsmanlike Conduct and blew it dead.

you mean those ones? Nope I didn't miss them. But I will say, it doesnt mean a ton for either guy because they have predominantly been in run first offenses. So they aren't throwing the ball 30+ times (in general) unless they are behind and/or are simply not in a position to run the ball.

Ravens will be wearing black jerseys Sunday Night. Should be a great atmosphere. Can't wait.

You're the fucking idiot, not me.
Learn how to read what was said IN CONTEXT OF THE CONVERSATION before you make stupid ass comments like that.

I realize most Jets fans aren't this stupid, and you do not represent the Jets fan base as a whole, but let me clarify before any more dumbasses make the same mistake.

I brought up Sanchez's previous performance against us as a baseline. He could TRIPLE his yardage total from the last time we played, and he would still only have an average outing against us. To expect him to pummel us into submission after the way he played last time is a bit unrealistic. That's not to say he can't do decently this time around. He might.

Using stats as a baseline in football is foolish. You can do that in baseball or basketball because you have a huge sample size. Football is a crap shoot. I understand where you're coming from but so much changes from season to season and even from game to game that it's not worth basing anything on.

Shit.. just look at the Lions and the Bills

    Side note:

Its transformations like these that make me love this board so much. I like that we're all free to release our inner Rex Ryan.

I do understand that, and you are absolutely right that things can change quickly in football.
For example, dont think that I haven't noticed that Sanchez, through 3 games so far, has looked better than he ever has, and is not the same guy we faced last year.

I am saying that although he has looked good so far this season, he still has a lot to prove...I haven't seen enough from him just yet to be convinced that he will be dramatically better this time around.

The other reason is that certain Qb and defenses have each others number. Look at how many times we lost to Roethlisberger. And Hasselbeck....I knew we'd struggle against him because coming into that TEN game, Hasselbeck had a career 107 QB rating against us.

While 1 game certainly does not establish any sort of trend, it is alarming when Sanchez's production was so low...

To fly's defense, it seems he was provoked.

Let's watch the personal attacks, don't want anyone banned.

We are all drawing on past statistics for Flacco and Sanchez.

Both QBs are having good passing years thus far. That's for sure.

Edit: Right now Flacco is ~70 yards behind Sanchez in passing but more importantly ~8 %tage points behind.

6 TDs 4 Picks for Sanchez
7 TDs 2 Picks for Flacco

I also expect Flacco's % to go up and Sanchez's to go down.

Both teams play New England which should inflate numbers.

But I figure both will be around 59-60%

Correct ... in fact, we'll be flying Braylon Edwards into Baltimore so he can be flagged for a ridiculous Roughing The Kicker call, leading to the game's only TD

Wasn't stating it to get on him. I genuinely enjoy the fact that you can do that on this board. Some things just need to be said in more colorful language.

But FYI fly, just tread lightly when directing it at a poster, as opposed to their arguments, as new posters don't get many chances before being banned.

I stand corrected. I'm actually surprised at that.

In some of those games, he played outstanding; the loss wasn't on him. In others, he sucked, and he played a big role in the loss.

As I said when I originally brought up the 10 -10 record of Sanchez in similiar games, I'm not really sure what bearing, if any, those stats have. It's actually something I wanted to discuss in more detail, because so much goes on 'behind the scenes' when we talk about that.

LMAO Do I have a source????

    <Sarcasm>
There's this thing called the internet and it has tons of different "websites" on it that have tons of information.

There are particular websites devoted to sports like ESPN, NFL, Yahoo, Rotoworld, and CBS. These websites allow people to look up any stat they like about any player at any time.
