Perfectly said. To take the next step and win the division, they had to avoid losing BS games like this. And we just couldn't get it done.
You're right and I'm venting but when we haven't had a legit pass rusher in so long and Maybin shows up in preseason and demonstrates some of that ability (albeit it's preseason but still) you get excited. To the poster who said the FO counts on Rex to mask the pass rush issues ur not kidding.
I know we always struggle on west coast trips. But it's not just one game. I was nervous before this game. The offensive line has been awful for 3 straight weeks, and that's supposed to be the bedrock of our team. And the defense has sprung a lot of leaks in 2/3 games as well. It's not like this will be the last boneheaded mistake Cro, Sanchez, or Schotty will make either. Our margin for error doesn't allow for this.
Everything that's wrong with this team is fixable. It's way too early in the season to start panicking.
I do agree that it's a bit early to panic, but I also agree with the sentiment that losing BS games like this is why we have to play road playoff games every year. If Rex wants teams to go out and beat the Pats he can't have his team playing like dogshit against teams we're supposed to beat. Guess what, if we end up 11-5 and the Pats end up 12-4 and win the division again its games like this that are going to matter.
I love this team for countless reasons and I hate it for just one, the fans fucking reactions at a loss. Shut the fuck up, its week fucking 3 and we are a great team. Once this offense adjusts and Mark gets more comfortable we will be a force to be reckoned with.
Week 3 with a shortened TC and who exactly looks great? The Bills. Stop the panic the NFL is a work in progress. Its not easy to fly across the country take a dump at 4:00AM and play your best late in the afternoon when your on East Coast time. Oakland doesn't suck as much as they used to.
And if the opposite happens, you can say the same thing about the Pats losing to Buffalo. It goes both ways.
You can't draw any conclusions about any team after three weeks. Well, maybe except the Chiefs. But you're talking about quality with such precision--You can't judge in September whether or not a team is the difference between playoffs and Super Bowl. Shit, a few years ago the Cardinals looked awful, and they almost won the championship. This loss sucked big time, and if go 0-3 on this road trip we're pretty screwed, but nothing is in stone on week 3.
This is the rollercoaster of the Jets it seems. To be honest, this team has won one game against a CFL team, had one team give us a win and lost the other. I fully expect the Jets to win at least one of the Ravens or Pats games and probably go in to the bye week 5-2. This team plays better with a chip on their shoulder and that was an embarrassing loss on all phases. Ryan got embarrassed as a coach today by not making ANY second half adjustments and that 4th and 2 call in the 3rd quarter of a tied game. Oh well. Bring on the Ravens.
True, but we're the team doing the chasing and we're the team that's come up a game short 2 years in a row. No guarantees, but if those games are in our stadium I like our chances. Stupid losses like this keep on shutting us out of that possibility. Now, in reality, maybe the Raiders aren't that bad. They were improved last year, and they could take that division this year, but I still think we should beat them 9 times out of 10.
Whenever I worry about the Jets, I just think about the Armageddon on this board when the Jets lost to the Falcons during Week 15 two years ago. No matter how bad they look, you just never know.
The obvious weaknesses werent addressed. OL-downgraded in the last year or so, no depth, guy starting that was cut by another team albeiit due to injury Pass rush-never addressed (only get pressure on blitzes) WR-added 2 old WR (one who just got out of jail) Safety-Is Eric Smith really the answer? RB-no speed, no playmakers (could be a result of the OL, probably a bit of both) The last 2 drafts really dont seem to have produced much (just hope Wilson and Wilkerson keep improving) I love Tanny but when does he start taking some heat in all this?
I'd rather have these issues now than towards the end of the season. But the question is whether or not we can correct them. The team has already proved two seasons straight that they can getvshit together, but I'd be lying if I said i wasn't concerned.
I'd love to be 2-1....instead my team fucking lost to the fucking brownies Idiots need to be fired. You guys will be fine. Bad losses do happen. We on the other hand are completely screwed.
On the flip side the Jets aren't that bad either. For as bad as they played the game was still close............
