This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think he's that underrated. He's incredibly talented, but he's also inconsistent and still struggles with blocking (although he's improved). If he can keep this production up, we'll absolutely talk.
keller ripped it up in the beginning of last year also and then did next to nothing. part of that was increased attention from D coordinators but nonetheless this isn't anything new
i wonder how much of this early success has to do with Tom Moore... he certainly looks like dallas clark out there right now (maybe a little darker skin tone)... really hope the big guy keeps rolling... or should i say spinning... that spin move is rediculous for a guy his size... DK81 all day
I don't know about the hottest tight end (see Rob Gronkowski), but he'll definitely be a huge factor this weekend.
As soon as it became apparent that Braylon was leaving the first thing I thought was that keller would have a big year. So far, so good.
I totally agree. I thought that Keller was breaking out last year when he started out on fire, but then he disappeared for games at a time as the season went on. Keller's gotta be this good throughout an entire season before he starts getting lauded as one of the best tight ends in football.
He's been a streaky player so far - hot for a few games and then he disappears for weeks. If he can just be consistent this year then he'll be a top TE.
I don't know. If Mark gets through Sunday's game without eating a hot dog, Tom Moore's stamp on the team will be incredibly clear.
Everyone's gonna come down on me for sayin this but if Keller played for the Patsies he would be first team all pro the past 2 years.Seriously!
I thought that DK's disappearing act last season had to do with the arrival of Santonio more than with him being inconsistent. In the end, this season it could be the same, considering Plax and Mason are still not in-sync with Mark; when those two start working out as we expect, DK won't be needed that much once again.
In my opinion, Mason looks done, and Plax is going to more of a red zone threat than a 6 or 7 catch guy every game. I think Holmes and Keller should continue to see the most targets every week.
Keller seems to be the key to our offense. When he's making catches, we're moving the chains and scoring TD's. When he isn't being targeted all I see is a whole lot of 3 and outs.
Dustin deserves alot more credit. He has Mark Sanchez throwing to him. Imagine his numbers if he had Brady or Rivers throwing to him? Keller is definately not a product of his QB(Unlike guys like Austin Collie, Garcon, Hernandez etc.)
