Plaxico Burress: I Stuck A Knife Right Through My Own Heart OK, I buy in. I hope he scores 12 TDs and gets a monster contract next year.
I believe he has changed. Im glad he is going to help others learn from his mistakes. I hope he scores 12 tds and catches another SB winner. that said no way he gets a monster deal next offseason. He will be 35, at best he has 3 years left (counting this year) of producing at a high level. Nobody pays big money for that.
Thats great! I had seen a couple of interviews and he never made that kind of sincere Admission of of his mistakes before. I hope this guy explodes and we get this offense going fast.
Really seems sincere, and its a good thing. Actions speak louder than words of course, but at this point in time words are all he can really give. All of his focus needs to be on the field right now...after he's really comfortable and back to form (hopefully) he can go on to become a philanthropist and preach about gun control. For now, this will do. Well said.
The two things he's always been: An amazing teammate, and a extremely underrated football mind. This guy is brilliant with a playbook. But when it came to this accident, it didn't surprise me a player had a gun on him. He stated his reasons why - he was robbed twice in his life. He is now a high profile NFL player and a millionaire - its why Tank Johnson had an arsenal in his trunk a few years ago. As fucking dumb as his action was, you have to empathize a little bit. I really hope he has an amazing season. I think he's going to be money in the redzone
No reason to doubt this man's desire to make an impact on the field. He has been among the best receivers in the league before no reason he won't be able to pull off making that impact until his body can't do it anymore. He might not be as good as he once was, but he should be able to step in and be a better than average 2nd receiver, and that's what we need from him. It looks like he wants to be a positive role model along the way this time which is a good thing too.
I thought that too until I read "I got a daughter, I got a son, I got a wife". Maybe he had a little help, but the general point is still there.
I think he really did dictate this to someone, who then combed over it and brushed it up a little with some better language once it had to be published.
 The first thing that I thought when I saw the headline was "seriously, with a knife this time? Godell's gonna be pissed!" Good for Plax though, he's got the right attitude.
I know this article will get some shit on this board, but even if it was written by someone else, it is certainly Plax's thoughts. Think about it, losing everything at the height of your fame, being locked up and thrown away... Man , till it happens to any of us, you just can't know, add in the fact that your rich and did it to yourself, and it will get your mind right. I have much respect for him stepping up and expressing his thoughts in the wake of this past weekends insanity. He siad nothing to make himself any less stupid then he was that night and he is just trying to help. If it saves even one kid from a life of being locked up ,then God Bless him for trying.....
Strongly disagree with him being "an amazing teammate". Guy missed team meetings to the point where he was removed for the first quarter of a game and suspended a full game. The team needs you on the field. In fact, Steve Smith once said, "Plax is Plax. He does what he wants. We don't see him a lot." http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2008/09/giants_coach_tom_coughlin_sadd.html
I'd like to believe it's real but this is some no name entertainment website. i don't know why plax would pore his heart out to them and no one else
Good for Plax. I hope he cherishes his freedom and brings a championship home for himself, his family, and his fans.
