Its a quality of offense issue. Peterson is the most talented back in football on a so-so offense. Foster is the most talent back on one of the top offenses in football and led the league in rushing last year. Due to the hammy injuries and Tate looking like a big of a monster I'm with you in not drafting Foster #1 over all, but most of the fantasy publications and sites rank him #1.

Watched the Game lastnight and wanted to add a few comments.........

The loins looked damn good and Detroit fans should really enjoy this coming football season...

Dan Dickhead is a Dickhead and a Brady ball licker....

The Pats ran in to a team that gave them a dose of there own medicne, how great was that...

Funny how the Pats don't like it when others run up the score on them......

If I heard one more comment about how half the Pats Defense was at home with injuries, from Dan Dickhead, I would have upchucked. Not the Loins fault that BB stocked his D with injury riddled old men... Get over it !!!!

Can't wait to see some of the cuts the Pats are going to have to make in the next two weeks...

The detriot lions are going to have a huge number of bandwagon fans this year - a bit like we did after hard knocks.

The Pats played a vanilla 34 defense without all starters for the majority of last nights game. It wasn't the blitzing 43 used in the first 2 preseason games (a lot of defensive starters WERE in Foxboro).

There were also terrible penalties, Ochocinco got knocked off of his feet by a defender who initiated the contact, and Ocho got flagged for offensive PI, Woodhead got tackled by a defender before the ball got to him (it hit the defender in the back WHILE he was tackling Woodhead) and there was no call, Suh punched Mankins in the facemask and the Pats got flagged, and there were a few helmet to helmet hits not called.

The offensive line also may as well have not been on the field, there was 0 effort by anyone on the Patriots not named Woodhead, Welker, or Edelman. Brady didn't want to play, the Oline didnt want to play, the majority of the defense didn't want to play, etc.

That said, the Lions played that game like it was their superbowl and NE didn't want to be there, period. If the Lions play like that every week they will easily take the #2 spot in the NFC North and possibly fight for a wildcard. If they can manufacture a running game they will be an above-average team with not too many holes. They're going to have a good season.

New England will be more than fine as well. If you think the game last night showed anything I think you're delusional. Just me 0.02c.

...christ, I didn't realize Foster caught 66 balls last year.

I still think Peterson is the top player though.

So Saints at Raiders, Sunday Night Football on NBC is the only NFL today, and then Jets/Giants on Monday night on NFL Network (national)/NBC (tristate area).

What other excuses do you have??? HAHAHA WOW that was whiny.

I didnt watch the whole game, but I did see the woodhead play and that was a good call. That ball hit him in the back before he smashed woodhead.

I also find it hard to believe that "Brady didn't WANT to play.. the oline didn't WANT to play and the majority of the defense didn't WANT to play." Come on man thats the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. They didn't want to play lol ok. I'm sure the Pats will be okay when everyone wants to play you got it.

Its preseason so I don't take too much stock in it either way, but calling people delusional yet explaining the Pats will be okay because they didn't WANT to play is beyond delusional. I also think its funny that Patriot fans.. the Media (is there a difference?)...and Dierdickhead are all making excuses when the actual players and coaches are acknowledging they played terrible and need to fix things..

You should have seen one of the other theories, that the patriots players were too concerned over hurricane Irene, so as a result, they did not concentrate on the game and did not play as well.

I kid you not, I read this in their post game observation threads

I'll give you playing a different style of defense and having a decent amount of starters out but the rest is shit. Before last night pretty much every pats fan was fellating BB for always having the team prepared to play. Today the team being completely unmotivated isn't a big deal.

"Brady didn't want to play , Oline didnt want to play, the majority of the defense didn't want to play, etc.".

Did you read their minds, did they say it, or was it just your observation of his lackluster play? Or just playing make believe?

For a pats fan sometimes you can be slightly less retarded that most (that's a compliment), but this is fucking lame.

They lost because they didn't want to play. Poor swollen vaginas.

That's a lot worse than just saying they sucked.

If I get bored later I might go and dredge up a bunch of other Patsies posts from the last couple of weeks that are amusing me in the light of last night.

Interesting response to my comments, so I guess I am delusional. then.
Isn't it funny how when the Pats pound a clearly inferior team and pile up the score on them, it shows just what a dominant team they will be in the coming season. Yet, when the tables are turned and they get pounded, "they just weren't playing there best, or they were distracted by other issues" and other bullshit like that.

This is what many other teams fans, not just the Jets either, have a problem with the typical Pats fan, they just cannot accept they got beat by a better team. The loins did just what any team needs to do to beat the Pats, GET TO BRADY, early and often and hit him every chance you get. The mere fact that BB was playing starters against the third team guys and still could not stop the Loins should set off alarm bells in Pats Nation. You can take it to the bank that it did for the Pats coaching staff !!

An no need to wonder why the Loins played so hard, because they have been abused by the Pats in the past as have others, who will surely be looking to return the favor in the future. Just like the last two preseason game when your team ran up the score when it was totally unnecessary to do so. Yet, this has been your M.O. for many years, and how your team has gotten in to other teams heads, you just don't beats them you try to humiliate them for next time.

If you look at our game against the Bengal's last week , up 27 to 7 we could have scored again down at the Bengal 10 yard line, but the Coach everyone says has a big mouth and hates, had the team take 4 knees, Bill would have had your team score again and them try an on-sides kick.. So as the time of Brady and Co. slowly comes to an end, be prepared for many such games as last nights, for you are going to receive what you dished out on the way up, on the way down.

Saints fail to respect the raiders D by marching down the field for the TD on the opening drive.

    Who's the current Jamarcus Manningesque?

So you are saying only the short, scrappy, white players came to play? The Jets need more of those.

Brees is making throws like it's his Super Bowl. Classless.

He should be more like Brady and not care so much.

    Saints backups massacring Raiders backups.

40-20 after Oakland had taken a 20-17 lead. 23 unanswered.

Saints going for 2 each time now for no apparent reason. I guess practicing their two point conversions.

Went for 2 to make it a 12 point lead and did it again to make it a 20 point lead.
