Team 2012 Super Bowl XLVI Futures Odds Top 10 New England Patriots (5 to 1) Green Bay Packers (6 to 1) Philadelphia Eagles (7 to 1) Pittsburgh Steelers (8 to 1) New Orleans Saints (12 to 1) New York Jets (12 to 1) Atlanta Falcons (12 to 1) Baltimore Ravens (13 to 1) San Diego Chargers (13 to 1) Dallas Cowboys (15 to 1) Bottom 10 Oakland Raiders (60 to 1) Jacksonville Jaguars (60 to 1) Tennessee Titans (60 to 1) Cleveland Browns (60 to 1) Denver Broncos (60 to 1) Seattle Seahawks (80 to 1) Washington Redskins (100 to 1) Buffalo Bills (150 to 1) Carolina Panthers (200 to 1) Cincinnati Bengals (200 to 1) I see nothing wrong at us being only 12-1, but thought we would be more of a 10-1 odds. Way too much love for the Pats and Eagles; for teams that haven't won a playoffs game lately. They are nothing more than paper champions. The two teams that stick out the most out of place to me are the over hyped Eagles who have looked anything but Super and the much changed Broncos who have new management. The Eagles will try to fly too high and get burned, while the Bronco should make a gallop for their division title.
Its all about the betting, people will bet so much money on the Patriots and lose it, year after year. I don't understand why people think the Patriots will ever win a Super Bowl again. No spygate, no Super Bowl.
Im just happy that at last vegas sees we are better than the Ravens for crying out loud, it seems that by default people rank them ahead of us simply because flacco has an extra year of nfl experience.
Hard to deny the Pats being way up top. While I truthfully think theyre garbage in the postseason, the fact remains that there is no team in the entire NFL that is more of a surefire bet to make the playoffs next year than the Patriots. And making the playoffs is the first step to winning a superbowl, so its kinda a no brainer. Hell id say the Pats are probably also the most likely team in the nfl to get a first round bye as well. And that helps as well. Dont get me wrong theyll still get knocked the fuck out of the playoffs when they play a cold weather ground and pound team with a good defense in the playoffs (and its virtually guaranteed they'll play Jets/Ravens/Steelers likely 2 of the 3 assuming they can win their first playoff game in 5? years) Either way I have no problems with them being favorites and the Jets being underrated. Just like when everyone and their mother said the Jets had no chance last January and fox borough, and we all know how that plays out
Agreed but this shit happens EVERY YEAR. I remember last season everyone was picking the Colts and Saints to get the 1 seeds again, and if you thought otherwise you were nuts. Hell I said the Vikings would miss the playoffs and people thought I was a nutcase, look how that turned out.
We'll see how the season goes. The Jets have become one of the strongest teams and have to be considered a SB favorite. The Jets also play the Pats very well. I think we'll have a good team so it should be interesting.
because the betting public is relatively stupid and vegas wants to cater to the betting line rather than the true line. If for no other reason the pats need to be at a disadvantage compared to gb by way of having to go through the jets.
This is the year negative odds are more fun - which team comes in last out of 32 teams. I can think of a few teams that are fair bets to tank the entire season just for the shot at Andrew Luck.
I agree. The SB champs should always be favored, especially when they're now healthy and retain most of there players.
