Hey guys, I'm in charge of the fantasy league for my school, and we want to make it a PPR league. The only change I have to make in the scoring is that we get 1 point per 1 reception, correct? I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. Thanks!

What site are you using? My league is PPR and that's exactly what I do. Nothing special.

I've also heard 0.5 points per reception. Just depends on how much value you want to give it. Just think about how you want to change the value WRs and RBs. PPRs reward receivers who get a lot of catches, but not necessarily a lot of yards; therefore, decreasing the value of a deep threat WR and increasing the value of a possession WR. They are more equal at one point per reception, but RBs who get a lot of catches see an increase in value over those who don't, which is why some leagues will favor half a point.

I've also done negative points per carry to give more value to RBs with high yards per carry and negative points for incompletions (and one point for a completion) to give more value to QBs with a better completion percentage.

Yes, in general PPR is just giving a point per reception.

That's the basic premise, but as NickD said there are many variations. If you want to keep it simple just award 1 point per catch for everyone.

(FTR, I'm not a fan of PPR, since it can reward a player for doing nothing)

I understand either you're a fan of PPR or you're not. But I don't get how you reward a player for doing nothing? It's a reception, he caught the ball. That's something...

I see what he is saying. Say someone goes against Revis and gets 4 catches for 15 yards. He didn't do shit but he gets 5 points for the day.

4 catches against Revis is pretty good...Didn't look at it that way, guess it makes sense.

Yep, same value as a runner who went for 59 yards. PPR can be unfair in that right, but in essense, neither should be on your roster anyway unless you are in a deep league.

What I mean is, a guy can catch a ball for no yards, or even negative yards, and he still gets a point for making a catch...which did nothing to help his offense.

I prefer counting yardage and TDs only instead. Just my preference. I know PPR is very popular.

I just comes down to whether you want to follow players who accumulate stats or those who impact the game.

I'm all for counting return yardage for individuals, because that shows their impact on the game.
