He was pretty much unblocked on that sack Maybin at least displayed a good pass rush move. So Maybin wins
Maybin I'm amazed at the way you got a sack tonight. And Maybin I'm amazed that you shit on Gholston Ok, maybe not the last part.
He came close on a previous occasion. He is fast and has some football savvy. This is after a whooping 4 days in training camp. I'll give him one hell of a chance.
The Jets have a pass-rusher. Maybin is the real deal. He has neccessary assets.....speed, speed, speed, quickness. Really, a offense must account for him. He is gonna get at least 4-8 sacks this season. He is a speed rusher...aka - Wade of Miami. Jets got lucky on this one.
Dwayne Wade is a speed rusher? Who knew? Seriously, though, let's wait until he does this against starters in the regular season before we crown him. Then you can compare him to Cameron Wake--errrrr--Dwayne Wade.
Seriously? Temper your enthusiasm guys. Maybin is an undersized pass rusher who lacks technique and dating back to Penn State has lacked work ethic. The only thing he has going for him is his speed which makes him worth taking a shot on but that's it. His performance against back ups in a preseason game means very little.
guyzzz Maybin was cut,,,,, and embarrassed in Buffalo. dont worry yallzzzzz,,,,,, its a lock he becomes the best pass rusher in nfl history. lock it up
Maybin looked really skinny, coulda mistaken him for a safety, someone gotta get him some cheeseburgers like on hard knocks.
He did show more pass rush ability than gholston every did but that isn't saying much. If he can get up to a muscular 250-255 he might have a shot at being useful. Right now Rex is gonna have to use him very creatively to get him opportunities to use his speed.
Well, a strip/sack in garbage time against backups only says so much, but that closing speed would've shown against anyone. From the little I got to see tonight, that's what I like. If we're gonna constantly bring up Gholston, after all the measurables, the guy didn't have any speed or strength that translated onto the field. With this guy Maybin, his speed and quickness are apparent. At least he can bring that much to the table.
Gholston was an absolute statue out there for the most part. No instincts or basic football skills just a hunk of muscle with pads. Maybin appears to have some freaky speed and a desire to hit the qb. Lets see if he can maintain.
